Feed me

I like going to the chicken coop. It is a small feather community and although it might sound surprising for those that are unfamiliar with poultry, chickens do have character and peculiarities. I watch them as they eat, picking their favorite "delicacies" or moving around sitting on a stone or a branch of the carob tree that is their home and I can't help noticing that each one has unique characteristics and an attitude of its own!

Yesterday I grabbed a camera on my way to feed them and I stayed a little longer than usual. I hope you like the result but the truth is that I enjoyed every minute of it!

My inlaws built a chicken coop this summer and we have some sassy hens now. This week I had to have one at home and care for her and she would follow me everywhere for cuddles

Haha yes, they can be pets too :)

aw I've seen even they sell a leash to walk them around, though they really free roam in the orchard. I've seen videos of a hen that was trained to play the keyboard, I'm a musician, haha if it were permanently at home I'd train her to be my band member. Jokes ago, we usually underrate animal's intelligence and hens can be very sassy and smart. I went to visit her yesterday and she (among all the rest) recognized me and came forward for the cuddles while the rest ignored me. She remembered me! aw!

True! Animals are much more complex than we give them credit for!

Absolutely and many have other kinds on intelligence we cannot even fathom

the quality of the pictures taking are amazing, my mum also rears chicken

Thank you very much @zoetech :)

Looks like some of them are in the gawky teenager stage... Did enjoy looking through the collection. :))

Haha yes! We have a bunch of them that were born in the summer and they are so funny :)
