Keep it simple

I returned home soaked in the aroma of blooming herbs. It has been a two weeks trip but it felt so much longer. Many changes of scenery, many friends that I hadn't seen in a while, a lot of outdoors work under extreme heat and a farm that has been hit ruthlessly by the drought. This winter was the second in a row with hardly any rain at all and the future doesn't look promising at all.

The memory card of my camera is full with pictures of the local flora though and despite of all the ominous signs, I tried to focus on the beauty, rather than the disaster.

The olive trees are also struggling for the second year in a row and for one more time the harvest will be minimal, if any. But as I said I didn't want to make a depressing post so no more of my troubles as a farmer. Just pictures of nature that keeps trying for the best even in the hardest conditions.

I should have written this post days ago but there are a lot of things to do every day and the heat does not help at productivity, on the contrary. And summer came this year very early and very strongly with repetitive heat waves that are not usual for June.

The good news are that we have started our daily swims in the sea, a ritual that lightens the burdens of the day and gives us a refreshing boost!

My previous six posts are the ones I managed to write during my trip. It was a test for myself to see if I can write while I am away from the comfort of my home and my desk. It turned out to be trickier than I thought, especially when I am having very tiring days. To my surprise the two posts that I wrote straight from my phone, with unedited pictures, were received very well. So maybe at the next trip I'll keep it simple. Posting phone pictures for day to day updates and keeping the dslr shots and the editing for later, when the trip will be over.

What about you?

What is your strategy when you are on the road?

The camera that I used is a Canon EOS 6D mark II with an EF 100mm f2.8L macro lens attached. I edited the photographs in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic .

All the pictures and the words are mine.

That's my strategy, fortunately for me it is very comfortable to publish from the phone, but I always have two sections, the photos taken with the camera and the ones from the phone. What a shame to hear about the skiing, on the other hand in the Caribbean right now we have floods, however your photos are very beautiful, I always enjoy these posts you share with us. ❤🙌

I was never very comfortable with publishing from the phone but I am slowly getting used to it :)

I hope you are not having too much problems with the floods. Too bad you can't send us just a bit from that rain over here!

Thank you!

Yes, daily updates... what does it matter if it's with the phone. We want to see everything, especially me who loves Greece.

Sea bathing, 😇 that's keeping it simple.

It looks like I can't even reply to my messages daily but I'll do my best :)

only you can make that simple photos of leaves look stunning!

Thank you very much!
