Win some, loose some

in Photography Lovers8 months ago

It was only yesterday that I was telling that I don't have to be in a meadow to feel the coming of spring, which is true, but in a meadow, surrounded by wild flowers, it is much easier!

And much more pleasant, I might add :)

Following the good weather and the smell of spring, I got out of the town for a short but refreshing walk in nature. The good thing with small towns is that the distance from the town centre to the countryside, is just a few minutes and you can easily enjoy nature even in a small break during your daily routine!

If you know me a little by now, you should have understand that half of my joy when I do something beautiful is to take pictures of it too! And this day was no exception. My trustworthy camera was in my hand, capturing all the beauty that I was witnessing! And although I didn't have my macro lens with me, I think I made it quite all right. The irony is that I had all my lenses except the macro that I took out of the bag the last minute, figuring that I won't need it and I could just leave it behind to lighten the camera bag a bit :)

The poppies are a lovely addition to the repertoire of nature around me. The last nine years I was living in a place with no poppies which seem to be abundant here. On the other hand I was used to have plenty of winter anemones around that can't be found in my new place.

I guess that's how it goes, win some, loose some :)

What I haven't told you so far is that the actual purpose of that walk wasn't to enjoy flowers but something completely different. The flowers were a charming side-effect, so charming that they gained a post for themselves! As for the true reason that I left town this beautiful morning, you'll have to wait till my next post :)

The camera that I used is a Canon EOS 6D mark II with an EF 24-105mm f4L lens attached. I edited the photographs in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic

Oh my, I love poppies! I see them over here every year, fields full of them, even on the side of busy roads, they're strong yet delicate and beautiful flowers. Love that first picture <3

Hey Rossane, what a surprise! So glad to hear from you :)

Poppies are so cool. They make me happy just looking at them!

Each of these photos are a delight to capture! 😍

Thanks a lot, I am glad you liked them!

What a diverse world of colors!

Yes, a lot of colours indeed :)

Thank you for stopping by!

The poppies are such a delight and beautiful flower for the eye. Thank you so much for sharing all of the other wildflowers as well. Rosemary has a special place in my heart. The last five or so years, here in my garden the poppy flowers took over when spring comes. We are headed toward winter now, so no more poppies, but I am sure in a couple of months when we come close to September, the poppies will resurface.

Thanks a lot, I am glad you liked them!

There used to be a lot of poppies in the neighbourhood that I grew up but now there are only blocks of flats and anyway I have moved away, many years ago. And now it's the first time since my childhood that I can see poppies in a reasonable distance from my home which is delightful indeed :)

I am so sorry for only responding now. The last two weeks drained the life from my very spirit.

That is wonderful news, but so sad about the flatblocks. It is the same here. Vast fields of wildflowers and plants are reduced to concrete jungles. It is so sad. I really hope that even if we do not return nature her space, that we can live in more symbiotic relationships (rooftop gardens and so on). But it seems like people are too busy to care.

oh a cliff hanger. Nice.

Haha, only until tomorrow :)

Loving the blur!

Thank you for stopping by @hadrianwild :)

Excelentes flores 🌺 amigo 🤩👏

Such amazing photos! 😍 My calendulas started blooming only in June last year and they're already so pretty over there! WOW! 😍

We should have a head start, shouldn't we :)

Thanks a lot!

Spring is slowly arriving here in Germany. It's still a bit chilly, but soon I'll be out in the meadows with my camera.

Cheers!

I'm looking forward to your masterpieces @fotostef. Such a lovely pictures you have there. Those flowers were beautiful, it captured my ❤️.

Thank you very much, I am glad you liked them :)

My trustworthy camera was in my hand

Thank goodness 😅

Yeah, yeah... you always find some wonder along the way (there are many here)... and then we arrive at the gem. 🎁

But I'll take a good look at the gem when I wake up in a few hours, it's already late. And this body needs rest. 😝

Yes of course, 7 hours time difference means that when your day ends, mine is just beginning! Funny little globe that we are living on :)
