October 25th, 2023 - calendar-wise a bit more than half of autumn is already gone, but can we really call it autumn anymore?
While I heard a lot of people enjoying autumn the least out of the four seasons Romania still has, due to being a rather rainy season than a happy one, I really can't be part of that category just for the single reason that I was born on the first day of autumn and I would feel like betraying autumn which, in the end, it's still a beautiful season.
I know there are a lot of rains and a big part of them are not the ones you can take a walk along with because in most cases these are accompanied by wind that makes you weak in front of the weather. And let's not even mention the switch to the winter time that will happen this Saturday and which often brings a lot of anxiety with it due to the daylight that is a lot shorter from now on.
But have you ever thought about all the colors offered by nature? It's true that during the spring there are lots of flowers who are offering this colorful show, but I still think that the colorful trees have the biggest charm from this point of view.
With this purpose, I with my twin sister had a short walk in town in one of the nearest parks from us which is actually connected with one of the biggest forests in Transylvania. So the wilderness still exists even if it's placed in quite a popular place in Sibiu.
The reason behind our walk was to take a few pictures of each other as we used to do for many years in a row, but this time I felt a bit more melancholic than in general so I took more shots of my sister instead of me. This is quite funny because she's the photographer of the family and who's behind the camera most of the time, but I simply felt like I didn't have that face for pictures with me, lol.
So instead, I took a few shots of the landscape that was surrounding us which even now, seeing the pictures, feels unreal.
Happy or not, my sister managed to 'fool me' by saying that she still needs to take a few pictures of me with the reason of finding the right angle I should use afterwards to take a picture of her.
So I ended up with a few shots that made me remember our walk a lot more powerful than I would only by going through the shots with the forest.

But even though the forest has put on its autumn coat, with the global warming still going on, makes me uncertain whether it's autumn or not.
One example is that last week we had negative temperatures in the morning making me wear the winter jacket sooner than ever, then we had snow at the mountains that covered the peaks with white, and last Saturday we had 30 degrees in the middle of the day. Which by the way, represented the 129th record broken on 21st October since measurements are made with this purpose.
It wasn't the hottest 21st October we faced in Romania, but it was pretty close to breaking the record from 1952.. which is crazy and alarming as well!
How does autumn look on your end though? Do you face the same uncertain weather conditions or everything is a bit calmer?

I've been around that part of the country for a few times but failed terribly seeing the fortress. And with the passage of time, it became even harder to make my way to it again. But hopefully one day it will happen, I really wish to explore the fortress and Bucovina more 🙏🏻
