It's incredible how most of the places that were so rich in precious stones ended up as ghost towns instead of some rich places that offer a lot to visitors even many years later since the mining activity ended. We have a similar city in Romania too and it's nothing but a ghost town, quite the opposite of what we expect to see for the sake of its history.

Roșia Montană is the name of the city. And yeah, definitely :(
