Your symbol of love is Tajmahal. Mine is moon. We are not same

Yes I mean it literally and also metaphorically at the same time.

I loved you like the moon. The moon I awwed all my childhood. The moon I stared for hours from my window and it stared at me right back, so comforting yet so unsettling at the same time.
The moon that walked with me on empty roads, yet making me feel miserable for being so far away from it.

And guess what? I did reach the moon one day. Don't ask me how, but trust me I landed on the moon. It was breathtaking. The wait was over
And just when I was about to feel what I wanted to feel since eternity, I started gasping. There was no air. I realised I had no suit and helmet. I started panting for breath and just when I thought I was choking to death, I suddenly woke up wondering if I am still on the same planet from where I left for the moon.

Duhhhh

It took me 5 minutes, a few sips of water and some embarrassing stares to realise I was day dreaming (in other words dozing off) in the premises of the East entrance of The Taj Mahal.

I actually came here to find some closure on love from what its considered to be the epitome of love,,,, but when I saw the never ending mob, I decided to endure this beauty from a distance...
Who decided this to be the symbol of love?

Taj Mahal is a symbol of love, commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1632 to honour his favourite wife who died while giving birth to their 14th child.

People don't understand that creative people like me need time to do absolutely nothing inorder to be creative.....
They all were so surprised how could someone sleep in front of The Taj Mahal.

Little did the know about my day nightmares. But why was I dreaming of reaching the moon while staring at this marvellous white figure. From where I was looking, I could see a building moonlit during the day.
That thought made me eavesdrop a tour guide telling a group of people that The Taj Mahal changes colour throughout the day. It appears pinkish in the morning, milky white in the evening, and golden at night when illuminated by the moon.

Yes the Moon. So coming back to what I think to be the symbol of love.
I can now tell, the people who've been to the moon and back definitely don't look at the moon the way everyone else does.
Just like me they no longer can love it like the way they did when they couldn't reach it.

It suddenly seemed easier to love you and miss you from far away.

My 'near death' return from the moon gave me more goosebumps than this proud passion of an emperor's love standing in front of me while I reluctantly sit at its entrance.

A very powerful man most artistically expressed his love in the form of this majestic monument of beauty and elegance.
Then what about a less powerful man's love?
What does a man who can't build a tajmahal for his lady love do?

9.jpeg

He brings his ladylove to see the Tajmahal. He stands in the queue for hours, holding her hand, clicks pictures with her in front of this crown palace with a promise to love her infinitely and bring the Taj to her feet, maybe one day.

I would like to ask Shahjahan if given another chance, would he still build a palace for his dead wife or will he rather not waste even a single moment to be with her while she's there?

10.jpeg

Maybe if you would have been here with me, I would have enjoyed standing in the queue holding your hand, maybe I would have loved walking towards it with you,, maybe, with you by me I would have also believed in the myths of this historic monument.
Until then, let me question this symbol of love about its origin.

11.jpeg

I know I loved you like the moon and now I don't even want to reach the moon anymore,,, but I also can't deny the fact that there is just one moon and nothing else on this planet can replace that moon in my life.
So I choose to look at the moon from far, very far away.
