As a photographer, International Women's Day means so much to me as I have had several opportunities to connect with wonderful women and I see this as a great means to spotlight their resilience, creativity, love, passion, and determination and also to reflect on the incredible experiences I have had photographing these remarkable women.
Being a female photographer, I have been privileged to connect greatly and build wonderful relationships with these amazing women. Most of these women have entrusted their families, businesses, brands and even personal life affairs to my care just through photographing them.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my work has been witnessing the confidence and empowerment that bloom within these women as they see themselves through my lens. There's a transformative power in photography that allows them to see their strength, beauty, and worth reflected at them in a way that perhaps they hadn't fully realized before.
Every portrait session is a unique opportunity to celebrate the individuality and spirit of each woman. From the moment they step into my studio or chosen location, there's an energy, a palpable excitement that fills the air. I see boldness, courage and strength in their faces and it excites me to want to capture each expression and moment. Sometimes, it's as if each woman brings with her a story waiting to be told to the studio and it's my job to capture it with honesty, happiness and respect.
I’ve had the pleasure of photographing women from all walks of life; I have helped most of these women build their confidence, strength and boldness through portrait photography sessions which gave them a visual representation of their personality, character, and emotions, allowing them to express themselves authentically.
I have had the privilege to help women showcase their businesses by capturing high-quality photos that represent their brand's identity, values, products, and services which have helped them to engage with their target audience effectively, and enhance credibility and trustworthiness.
I have photographed mothers during maternity sessions and there's a certain glow that radiates from these women as they eagerly await the arrival of their little ones. Capturing the anticipation, love, and excitement in their eyes is incredibly fulfilling, knowing that these images will be treasured for years to come as a reminder of this special time in their lives.
Bridal portraits are perhaps the most enchanting of all. I have photographed brides stepping into a new chapter of their lives with grace and elegance on their big day. Documenting every moment of their day right from their dress up to the joining, traditional marriage event to the reception party where they dance and party to celebrate their big day. Seeing the excitement and joy on their faces as they don their wedding gowns fills me with happiness.
Capturing the bond between mothers and their children is always heartwarming. Whether it's a tender moment shared between a mother and her newborn baby or the playful interactions between a mother and her growing children, these sessions are a testament to the unbreakable bond of love that exists within families.
I have captured birthday portraits of beautiful women and mothers and most of their photoshoot sessions are being booked by their children. I recently photographed one of my friend's mother. She invited me to her state just to get those beautiful photos of her mother.
As I look back on the countless women I've had the honour of photographing, I'm filled with gratitude for the trust they've placed in me to capture their stories. Each image is a testament to the beauty, resilience, and strength of womanhood, and on this International Women's Day, I celebrate them all. Here's to the women who inspire me, who empower me, and who continue to remind me of the beauty that lies within us all.
On this International Women's Day, I celebrate not only the incredible women I've had the privilege to photograph but also every woman around the world who inspires, empowers, and uplifts those around her. May we continue to honour and celebrate the beauty, strength, and resilience of women everywhere, today and every day. May we continue to honour their voices, their stories, and their contributions to our shared humanity.
