Magical Reflections in Prince William Sound Alaska

in Photography Lovers3 months ago (edited)

Eshamy Lake is very deep, so we had to drop the anchor and then secure a stern line to prevent the boat from swinging in another direction, as there were rocks and other obstacles that could have sunk our boat.

In one of my other posts, I mentioned that commercial fishing was completely closed this season in Prince William Sound. To be honest, I didn’t expect to see so many fish. The salmon are nearly walking upstream, trying to lay their eggs—you don’t even need a fishing rod; you can almost pick them up with your hands.

I’ve never seen anything like it. Of course, the bears love it, and so do we; the freezer is always full. Ikura (salmon eggs) for breakfast, fried salmon for lunch, and smoked salmon for dinner. It’s a hard life out here, what can I say?

As I’m writing this post, we have sunshine and another glacier in view. The panoramic scenery is indescribable.
