Back to my home country Estonia for a sec. Some time ago, in the spring I visited a small town in Estonia called Laitse. It's not too far from my home, maybe 40km or something. Decided to go there and check it out because I'm fairly sure that I had not been there before. I knew there was some sort of a castle so thats a good enough reason to visit the place.
This is the castle of Laitse. I don't really know what's inside but it looked like there is a fine dining restaurant.
Next to the castle was a maze, made of hedge bushes. It wasn't too hard to complete but I sure took some wrong turns.
I found from maps that in Laitse there should be a yard with some interesting sculptures. We took a walk through the courtyard of the castle to make our way toward the yard of sculptures.
After about 5 minutes of walking, we reached the yard of sculptures. No money was taken from us and it was free to walk inside. I have a lot of pictures of different sculptures but I'm not going to upload all of these. Yeah, these sculptures were quite interesting.
I actually find it a pity when castles are turned into hotels or restaurants as then you can't really enjoy visiting them. Even when you book a night or a meal there it's different as you're limited in what you can see. The castle looks pretty and kind of new..
I love parks with something special that is available to everybody. My favorite sculpture would be the last one 😉
Yep, it's not very old. It is built in 1893. I think people can rent the castle out for events or something. I have never been inside and have no idea how much can be seen.
The architecture of the old building was very beautiful and strong and the way we see that the artist has worked hard to make all these sculptures, it is not easy to make them. Too much work has been done.
Quite a bit of work has been done for these sculptures yeah. Some are made of very soft materials.
