Foggy and Sunny Winter Wonderland - The Best Combo

I don't usually have many great photos of the winter. The reason is that 98% of our winter weather is dull and overcast. Even if there is nice snow on the ground, the pictures are still boring due to the weather. This is not the case this time, we got to see one of the most perfect scenarios there is to see in wintertime.

Back in this January, we decided to go for a drive and visit one specific cool place that I had wanted to see for quite a while. Since the weather was sunny and nice, it was a great time to go. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the location, the weather had totally changed to overcast. The reason was that the temperature was very cold and the sea nearby was steaming due to the freezing air. The gentle wind pushed it to the mainland.

Since this only affected the coastal area, we decided to drive somewhere else, meaning more inland to get in the sun again. Finally, we did get out of the thick fog and the sun came out. Not only was the sun out but due to the cold weather the low fog was everywhere and it was amazing. I decided to stop on a random field and took a walk on the field. All the photos you have seen so far, are from this walk.

The frozen trees.

Definitely, the most stunning aspect was the fog. The golden hour sun cast a warm light all over the cold landscape and the fog cast beautiful shadows everywhere.

We just walked along a random path that led us over the field. If I remember correctly, the temperature was around -18C degrees.

When the sun was almost gone and we were in a forested area. We got a last glimpse of the sunlight that cast those awesome shadows. The shot is epic and definitely has a place in my end-of-the-year favorite pictures showcase.

I hope, when the next winter arrives, we get more amazing weather like that. Its a shame that it was a single event like that in the last winter season.

So beautiful… the light, the sun… beams and all that snow.
What a serene landscape. You captured it well.
Thank you so much for sharing 😊👋🏻

Thank you! Yep, it was truly magical!

You are welcome 👋🏻😊 it sure looked like that!
Have a great Thursday ☀️

It's so funny when you say that you don't have many great photos from winter as all your winter photos that you shared until now were PERFECT! 🙂

And I also like your dedication: weather gets worse? who cares, we drive somewhere else 🙂

Thank you for sharing!

I tend to be quite critical in my own shots. There are a bunch of winter shots that I have deleted and don't even want to keep 😀

In that case, it was easy to drive away from the bad weather. Usually its not that simple 😀

The perfect conditions came together to take some incredible photos! This is not something we see every day!

I have never known snow and I wonder, how do you walk outside with a temperature of -18 degrees without freezing yourself?

Thanks!
Well, living here in the winter, people get used to the cold. Although when temps drop below -20C, you can start to get frostbite yea.

I myself am very fond of living in such a place because I like snow very much and one day I will definitely go to such a place as we see the view is very beautiful. There are certain problems in living there, but people live their lives there to enjoying alot. You have captured all these pictures on perfect time. I really enjoy your trip. Thanks for sharing.

I guess, it does make life a bit harder in such cold weather but nothing too bad. Just got to put on appropriate clothes and you are good to go 😀

Yeah you are right.

Wow you're right, this combo of foggy and sunny weather created great effect for your photos @greddyforce, very beautiful.

Yeah, wish it happened more often in the winter.

It's really beautiful to see snow on the tree, I myself experience it once in my life, when I visited to northern areas of Pakistan. thanks for sharing these beautiful memory.

It's great that you have seen snow at least. Many from that far south might have never seen it.

yes, you are right, I know many people who have never enjoyed snowfall yet in their life.

For a moment I was afraid these photos are recent 😃, then i started to read your post. What a lovely snowy series. The truth is, winter photos can be lovely, if there's sunshine. Nice captures @greddyforce.

Oh damn. That would be an event to the record books if we had this whether right now in the summer 😅
Thank you!
