Marimetsa Bog and A Longest Straight Path I Have Seen

It was back in the end of March when I visited many bogs in one week. There is still one I haven't posted about, the Marimetsa bog. It is located in the western part of Estonia, about an hour's drive from Tallinn.

First of all, we had to manage our way through the forests and fields which took us a well over half an hour of walking...

...until finally, we reached the bog. There was a boardwalk that was partially covered with wet snow and it was uncomfortably slippery, therefore very hard to walk on.

The cool thing was that we were totally alone in this bog. We did not see a single other hiker on this path.

What I also realized was that the wooden boardwalk was built in a totally straight direction, no turns just an endless straight walking.

After about 40 minutes of walking we finally reached to the end of the road where a watchtower was in the middle of the bog.

It was not quite swimming weather. If it was, then this place would be perfect to take a dip in.

We climbed on the tower and I waited for the sun to show itself to get some better shots but that didn't exactly happen sadly.

Here you can see the long boardwalk from above. This is crazy, I had never seen a path so straight this long. Have you?

After that, we quickly started to walk back because the darkness was arriving shortly. It was a great bog and the boardwalk like this made it more different and special.
