Meteors and Unexpected Northern Lights

I drove out to western Estonia back in August to capture some of this amazing meteor shower action. Western Estonia because the sky is extremely dark in this particular place. There are no big settlements nearby and according to the light pollution map, the sky is almost perfectly dark.

I can confirm, the starry sky was absolutely amazing. Right off the bat, I took this photo which is actually the best meteor shot I got during the whole time staying there. You can't see a lot of meteors on a small picture but when I opened it up large, I counted 17 shooting stars in one photo!

A vertical shot of the same place with the Milky Way and all. Here I counted 4 meteors, two of them are hard to see in a small photo.

At some point while chasing the meteors I noticed the sky glowing on the other side. Suddenly the northern lights came out. I didn't expect it, at the time it was not a solar storm in the forecast but why not... I like surprises like this.

Here is also one shot I took straight above my head of the amazing starry sky. I overexposed the photo a bit and the result is an absolutely insane amount of stars.
