While traveling through Croatia we hit a snag when the freeway through the Velebit Mountains was closed due to fierce, snow-driven winds.
This detour tacked on an extra three hours via the winding coast road, but the sea views made up for it. The wind whipped up impressive waves in the Velebit Channel, and with the air so crisp, the distant islands were a sight to behold.
Short break in Karlobag...
We eventually ventured up into the mountains, where the higher ground offered us stunning vistas of the Dalmatian coast and its scattered islands.
All pictures were shot with a Nikon D850.
