Light Painting on me Office desk!

Someething different for this Sunday

Found this wonderful candlelight lampshade / cover to be interesting for a Light Painting Experiment. I must admit I kind of stole it from a colleague for these shots. No worry it has been returned. Anyhow this thing then was sitting on my desk for a while until my camera also sat on my desk next to it and I turned on some light and started playing around. This is what you going to see here.

Set Up

It was really simple. I put this roll on a napkin and put some light in from every angle. Of course, I tried some different sources. My black fiber Brush has to be tested as well. (featured shot)

Eigentlich ganz einfach.

What happened here?

As you can see I used my Canon 16-35mm F2.8 @ F22 with a 35mm focal length and ISO 100 on the Camera. This way I had enough time to play around and still see what was happening around me on my desk. The exposure times varied between 2-45 seconds. The featured Image is a 16-second single exposure.

For the last image, I used a little white napkin and my flashlight and waved it around in front of the opening. The colors you see are my fingers covering the front of the flashlight. the red color comes from the light going through my fingers and filtering the light. My fingers were glowing reddish.

To get the pattern not super sharp I also started moving the cylinder while shedding light from the outside.

I hope you found these images inspirational. If you have more questions please do not hesitate. I am happy to share my knowledge.

If you think this is Spam, why did you read this far, and why the fuck bother you? Move on from your self-righteous mind state and bury yourself. Don't bother about what others may find interesting. Just stay in your bubble and ...

Cheer Up, Guys!
