A Moonlover's tale p7 - Blood Moon

in Photography Lovers2 years ago (edited)

Greetings Photography Lovers!

It's been a while for me but I've finally... Finally edited my blood moon pics. Yes, yes I know there is new full moon tomorrow but I'm proud of these so I'm sharing it before it's too late 😂.

This time I was ready! I mean the blood moon a pretty special occurrence so I was notified by all my fellow moonlovers about it coming up.
So I picked out a good spot, on top of a fort, that just happens to sit on top of a hill!

If you wonder where, check out Fort Nassau here:https://peakd.com/hive-163772/@gvkanten/keepexloring-fort-nassau-curacao

I actually had a work deadline for the next day but I decided to use my "how often does this happen" logic to justify me being out from 10 pm till 2 am 😁.
No regrets here!
I picked up a friend of mine, batteries were charged ready and my trusty tripod ever present.

Check out the setup:
Canon M50
Canon 55-250mm
(edit: this was originally going to be a video but my dapplr is stuck in the hivesigner login and that was to only app I know that uploaded video, advice is welcome)

Now, I've been hurt before... I've had rain or clouds totally mess up my previous attempt so my fingers were crossed longer than usual 🤞😁.

The challenge for me was to get the moon sharp enough while losing light. It was trial and error for a while and at some point I no longer went for the sharpest picture... I basically had to go manual with a longer exposure time.

And then the weather turned.. Clouds started rolling in 😩😩😩.
I had to shoot the actual eclipse in between clouds having a few seconds to (manually) focus and take the shot.

Challenge accepted! 💪
What are the results you ask? Well allow me to present.... These!

That's it for me today. As always, questions, feedback and tips are all welcome in the comments below.

Cheers,

Nice! What lens were you using for these shots? The moon looks very detailed.

Thank you! I try 😁.
I'm using a Canon M50 with a 55-250mm zoom lens (with adapter)...
