In the Netherlands, we have a lot of water! One of the biggest reasons is that a big part of the country is below sea level so water just appears where it can! And we are not afraid of the water, we just enjoy it very much!
Just like these people! This is a sailin competition that i was photographing! Its the Javelin-14 class and the Spanker-19 class
Probably English speaking people have a different idea with that last name 😂
These boats are often very old, and people who sail these, are enthusiasts who maintain these ships as a hobby and who enjoy sailing competitions on the weekends! At least, the fun is before, during and after the games! Cozy camping and eating and drinking with each other, but during the competitions it is often competitive!
It can be very busy at the start of these competitions and every buddy is shouting to each other to get out of the way, especially when the wind is not blowing hard! It's fun to hear that!
But when they are out in the open, and they put up there big colorful sails, it is a beautiful and peaceful sight! But when the wind picks up, it is sometimes still hard work for them and they hang far out of the boat to go as fast as they can!
The sunlight was beautiful, I love the golden back light like this!

They are hanging in the mast. It's fun to see when the wind dies out 😅 then they need to go back in quickly, or the boat will rollover 😅
