Greetings dear participants of this prestigious community!/Saludos queridos participantes de esta prestigiosa comunidad!
I am starting in the community and in this wonderful world of blogchain. In this publication I want to show you, through images, a day of joy with God's blessing at Playa Manzanillo, Isla de Margarita. Edo. New Sparta. Republic of Venezuela. I tell you that the main economic source of the inhabitants of this town is artisanal fishing. Which allows this activity to be developed with traditional fishing techniques and few technological developments, this being favorable for the balance (production - marine ecosystem).
It should be noted that sardine fishing, in the state of Nueva Esparta, Isla de Margarita, has been carried out by hand for 93 years; when the purse seine or sardine train was introduced for the first time in the town of Pampatar. Being an activity carried out by several boats from peñeros boats, with a fishing gear called chinchorro or sardine train, made up of pieces of net (cloths) that range from 20 to 70 m in length and from 12 to 18 m in height that It does not present a closing mechanism at the bottom, and which is operated between 15 to 30 fishermen. In this sense, it can be said that it is a fishing gear that does not harm the coastal marine ecosystem, as it does not damage the seabed. Therefore, since the school of sardines is approximately 3 miles from the coast, these boats surround it, forming a fence with the sardine train (fishing net), to bring it as close as possible to the shore of the beach. . After this, completely close the fence. Immediately afterwards, the sardines are extracted from the shore with baskets for their commercialization. This activity requires a lot of labor, which involves technicians, fish farmers, sailors, fishermen, basket makers, merchants, carriers, among others. This allows generating sources of work and therefore, income for the neighbors and all those involved, generating a positive impact in the area.
<h4 Finally, I want to highlight the name of these artisanal fishermen from the town of Manzanillo, who selflessly give part of the fruit of their work (sardines) to people who need it.
