Along the north coast of Sicily in Italy is the Fiumara d'Arte Open Air Museum, which is a series of about 9 or so piece of public art which are spaced along a route which about a 50km or so loop.
The Monument to the Dead Poet is one of the more famous pieces. It is by Italian sculpturer Tano Festa and is sometimes called the Window on the sea. It is dedicated to Tano's brother who was a port, hence the name.
It is actually a frame or square which is light blue with cartoonish clouds on it, the internet tells me it's meant to look childlike, and with the stick which runs through it be black/grey meant to contrast, personally I wasn't a big fan of the clouds or the colour, but I liked the spaces and the concept of the window on the sea so I decides to underexpose the bejesus out of the thing and turn it into a celebration of shapes.
A storm which was starting to roll in helped with the moodiness and the contrasts
Great pieces
