It's Part III and hopefully the last part of my series - 'Shots from my holiday to Spain and Portugal that didn't really make the cut for any other post, but are good enough if you combine them with some other shots' Catchy title Huh?
Now I take about 1000 shots in a three week holiday, about 700 of those don't make it through the first cull, Maybe 30-40 or so a good enough for me to consider uploading to Flickr or framing them or doing something with them. Another 100-120 will make a post on HIVE, generally grouped together under a theme, and then there are another 30 or so which have had a little bit of post production work done on them and they sit around in folders as I consider if they can make any of the post mentioned above, and at the end of the process, they really haven't, they either aren't strong enough on their own, or the don't fit into a theme, so those shots end up here, in the Random pile.
Like this shot from Lisbon of an interesting street, I liked the colours, the truth is the shot isn't really that strong, the light's too harsh, the shadows a bit in between it either needed to have the areas in shadow not in shadow or the stuff in the light to be more interesting. Oh well.
Or this shot from Bilbao - which is, well odd, I'm done a shift tilt on it but even then it looks a little wonky, and the light is - well dull, It's not minimalist enough to be interesting if that makes sense.
And finally this, more problems with Shadows, this sign on this building could have been really interesting, and I thought maybe I could do my usual trick of the half shadow thing, but it reall doesn't work here.
