As Long As Skipper Has His Ball
This morning the day started well with a nice walk through the cold woods. Skipper was fine with it, as always. As long as he has his ball with him, the world is a beautiful place. He hopped happily through the leaves, sniffed here and there, and looked at me now and then as if he wanted to check if I was still with him. Of course. Where else would I be?
After the walk, we fed the garden birds together. Well, I fed them, Skipper watched – probably hoping that something spectacular would happen. That didn’t happen, except that a great tit dove on the food less than half a minute later. As if he was waiting for the service to open again. Quite clever. Maybe I would do the same if someone gave me free food.
Time For Some Pyrography
Then it was time to pick up the pyrography pen again. That project is now finished! Always a nice moment, such a finished work. But then the question immediately arises: what am I going to burn next? Plenty of ideas, and making choices is just not my strong point.
While I was thinking about that, I got distracted by another problem. My phone seems to be slowly but surely giving up the ghost. I used to charge it only once a week, then it became twice a week, and now... well, when I look at it, the battery is already draining. A bit of a shame.
A Phone That Doesn't Want To Stay On!
When I realized how long I've been using this thing, I realized that maybe it's not that crazy. System updates? Long gone. Security updates? Also gone. And honestly? I don't even care that much. As long as I don't click on suspicious links and no prince from Nigeria tells me he has millions for me, I'll be fine. But a phone that just stays on would be nice.
So I went looking for a replacement. Not to buy right away, because I want to do some proper 'research' first - in other words: doubt, read reviews, click on a link ten times, and back again. My requirements are not that complicated: being easily accessible is the most important, but a good camera is also a must. Yes, I have two other cameras, but let's be honest... the phone is always the quickest to grab.
An Endless Wishlist
The problem with looking for a new phone? You come across at least 985 other things that are also on your wish list. And that's when I had to give myself a stern talking to: no, you don't have a money tree in the garden. No, you can't buy everything you want. Yes, first earn money, then spend it.
Sigh. Sometimes I wish a magical sponsor would show up and just say: "Here, buy whatever you want." Until then, I'll have to make do with wishes bigger than my wallet.
