I've heard it so many times now that I'm actually getting tired of it. "Trump is pro-crypto!" And I'll admit right away, for many, that will have been a reason to think that the crypto party could finally get going. And for a short while, right after his election, it seemed that way. But then came the inauguration, and his actual policy. Then, the memories of many people were refreshed. Trump is not a diplomat. Trump seems to understand little about economics, but Trump understands everything about creating chaos. The financial markets are collapsing, the bull run that finally seemed to have started appears to be turning right around again, and prices are being hammered down on all financial markets. Maybe it's time to ask ourselves a critical question: For whom is Trump actually pro-crypto? For you and me, the average crypto enthusiast? Or mainly for himself and his club of insiders who know how to play the game like no other?
Flashback
Let's look back a little bit on his first term. The man has proven in those years that he has no trouble at all causing chaos on financial markets. Trade conflicts, sky-high uncertainty, and policy choices that were as unpredictable as the weather. What actually gave the average Trump voter the idea that this time would be different? A promise that groceries would become cheaper per month? That won't happen if you throw import tariffs on everything. So what do we see now? The uncertainty that characterized his first term has a firm grip on the financial markets again, including crypto, just a few months after he took office. And that long-awaited bull run in crypto, that seems to have been averted, and we can only hope that the damage will be limited and we don't go much further down ... straight into a new long-term bear market. A possible recession in the United States is lurking, and we all know that when the American economy sneezes, the economy everywhere else in the world gets a bad flu.
Hope Has Dropped Below Zero
Of course, I am not an economist, nor can I see into the future, but when I look at the current state of the crypto market, I am not happy, to say the least. My hope to build a solid financial foundation through crypto has now dropped below freezing point. And when I look at the outflow, I do not seem to be the only one wondering which way it is going. For me, it is, in any case, a reason to be very active in other ways to find some financial relief. Because let's be honest: life is not getting any cheaper.
Life Is Expensive
It is not only in the US where prices are skyrocketing. In my little part of the world, we also feel the pressure increasing considerably. Groceries are more expensive, fixed costs are rising, and salaries are hopelessly lagging. Unexpected expenses? These days, they are more of a nightmare than a minor inconvenience. Very difficult to impossible to absorb them. And that drives me to action because I have been hoping for a crypto miracle for too long. My focus has now shifted to other areas, because after all these years, I have learned to see through the noise. There are possibilities.
Lesson From The Past
My parents always taught me: "If something doesn't work after a fair chance, find another path." And that is exactly what I am doing now. The result? I don't feel much for blogging at the moment. The time I normally spend on blogging is not something I can give at the moment. And just throwing something down on Hive is not my style, it's not worth it to me. It is currently a simple consideration that blogging is currently costing me more than it is bringing in ... and then it quickly becomes wasted time that I can better spend on something else that brings in more. After all, time is the most precious thing I have.
We Will Make It!
But hey, it is not all doom and gloom. Spring is here, the sun is showing itself more often, and nature is coming back to life. The garden is turning green again, the birds are chirping away, and my pyrography projects are starting to take shape. So even though it's tough financially right now, there are ways to discover new opportunities, that's what I'm currently sinking my teeth into.
One way or the other... We Will Make It!
I thought to see a post with some nice photographs birds, which it has, but the text of the blog doesn't match.
I tend to not focus too much on the news lately. It doesn't make me happy.
Your bird pictures do! And that is why I like spending time on Hive.
If you see this as a job or a source of income, then it is surely not the best time.
All you can do is continue growing your stake and wait for better times. I'm in here for the long run. But I have the luxury that I don't need the money to pay for my expenses. It might be different for others who do need the extra money.
Take care!
I get what you're saying about growing the stake, if you have the luxury, it's great. But if you don't (what unfortunately applies to us since we have just one minimum income), it's not possible. We do need it to pay for expenses. Wish it was different, unfortunately it's not. Not yet! We work towards that goal, but until then ... it's dealing with financial hardships in every possible way. Even if that means taking my Hive stake.
Let's focus on the positive part of the blog: spring is here, woohoo! It makes me a lot happier at least, although I haven't had a really nasty winter here either ..
!PIMP
Well, the happy feelings about spring being here definitely apply to me. It's just so much nicer to look outside and see all the greenery surrounding me, and feel the sun on my face when walking Skipper. It lifts the mood enormously.
Hear hear! !LADY
