Yes, I've been told after the fact this is frowned upon. My frame of reference was reddit where this is normal, because each subreddit is independent, but now I know things work differently here :)

Suggestion is to maybe publish from the photography community and then crosspost to another, but at the top of the page (in peakd.com) there is a toggle up in the right corner that you can put a copy on your own blog which is what we recommend.
Or vice versa, you can post in your blog and crosspost to another community, but the trick is to not do it more than that as it can be interpreted as abusing the system.
