As I was walking along the stone strewn path of our small park, which offers me a shortcut through our bustling city center. I just cannot help thinking, “as to when, time could ever had a chance of slowing down.” I observed people from all walks of life, everyone were so busy hastening to and fro, like the little rabbit in the story of Alice in the Wonderland, oblivious to everything around it, running and humping, saying, "Oh dear, oh dear, I am late.” They seemed to be so caught in a whirlwind of activities. That they don’t have time to enjoy the simple things of life.
Life is beautiful!
All you have to do is to simply look around. Try to spend some of your time freely, not being chased after by deadlines and commitments. Let go and allow yourself to be immersed in nature. Take time to slow down. Take time to breathe and feel the cool breeze caressing your sweaty cheeks. Take time to feel the warmth of sunshine on your skin. Take time to observe even the tiny creatures, the spiders’ swaying on its frail web, the bees dancing as it sucks the sweet nectar of the flowers, dragon flies skimming the water on the pond and a tiny caterpillar blending with the color of the leaves.
And ah, speaking of flowers, those dainty yet colorful expressions of natures frivolities! Every time I see flowers, be it in a pot, in a garden or even in a meadow, I just can’t stop myself, not to spend my time admiring and just being curious about them. A verse in the Bible shows the majesty of this frail flowers, as it was said, “Even King Solomon garbed in all his splendour, could not equal the beauty of the flower." In reality, this flowers are here today and tomorrow it was gone, so perennial yet so captivating.
I love to take pictures of this splendid flowers, its kaleidoscopic colors, is captivating my fickle attention. Even flowers along the foot-walks, supported by trellis, in the meadows or even along the river bank, I always take time in capturing its beauty in pixels. Flowers could be fascinating. There are those who strives in harsh weather conditions, those who spread numerously in one go, or those who strives in an inaccessible place.
And speaking of a flower growing in an inaccessible area, I had this experience of climbing the slippery side of a waterfalls, clinging to every bit of vines and turf of grasses growing in its recesses, making use of my strength to haul my aching body to another level, for the sole purpose of possessing a wild flower with white blossoms. But once possessed, my curiosity satisfied, I gave the wild flower to a dear friend, that until today she still got it and it was striving in a healthy environment.
I do plant and cultivate flowers too, but not as good as compared to growing my own vegetable garden. Usually, when there are beautiful flowers growing where I go, I do take time to admire the flower’s beauty, even to smell its scents. Oh, yes, I do love flowers, and I do love its essence. And to think about it, flowers are needed to be crushed, so that its scents will come forth. Perhaps, we can relate this to our own lives as well, that when we are facing struggles and difficulties in life, we need not give up, but rather keep on, for struggles makes us stronger.
Flowers will always be a beautiful thing to see, especially when it is carpeting the meadows in all its splendour, even a single stalk sprouting out of the ground defying the impossibility of existing. Flowers is also an expression of your passion and love. It symbolizes the very essence of purity and innocence, moreover, flowers adds a natural beauty in a place made of stones and mortars. When I am walking among flowers, my heart is captivated, my soul is liberated!
