My state is blessed with diverse cultures and they still live together in unity and harmony. This was a month of cultural festivals; in my state, which has 31 local government areas in the state, each state was given a day alphabetically to perform in the state's Christmas village throughout the 31 days.
This Particular L.G.A had its performances that day, and I couldn't help but be a part of it; I went there late as I missed parts when the masquerades had their performances, but there were many more things to capture as the full day was given to them to perform.
People were in their full attire as they came to support their local government area. I came to capture such a wonderful moment, which will serve as a memory for years to come. The dishes I saw looked so attractive, and I wanted to have a taste, but before I could think twice, it was sold to people after they made a proper introduction to the dishes.
Luck shined on us as we were just taking a random picture, and a cultural dancer asked if we took pictures of her; we said we were just taking random pictures, and she posed for a picture; after seeing how the pictures were, she called her friends to come to take photos too.
They looked so beautiful in their cultural attire with markings made on their face; I would have loved to see their performances and also make a video.
Everywhere just went bright, maybe it was illuminated by her smile. They always wear their smile on them whenever they're making a pose or dancing. People were moving up and down, keeping themselves busy with something; I was just behind the camera, creating memories.
A quick production of our popular Garri was done behind, as two women were frying it. It is one of the most consumed products in the state and country at large, some people had a handful of it.
Tracking back to your Cultural heritage is one of the best things to do; many people adopt other people's ways of life, dropping theirs at the river bank. Such events like this have made people know much about their culture.
It wasn't easy to capture a moving person with my mobile because people were just moving up and down, disrupting the focus. I was lucky to have several nice photos as I pushed out fears and I went closer to the subject to take the pictures.
This was like a princess or queen, cos I saw many people around her, but I had the chance to get a clear picture Irrespective of the movement. Her dress was attractive as you could easily tell that she was a dignitary in the land.
The drummers were really good with their craft, they are professional with their drums as they sang along to the beats they produced. The sound was so loud that I thought mics were attached to the drums. The drum skin were so tough but was beaten with the hands.
The drummers were in their uniform as you would easily identify anyone in their crew through their uniform.

Excellent colourful event to enjoy over festive period, traditions and culture are treasures to a land people should never discard in a hurry.
Yes, they shouldn't discard it.
It was really colorful, it's a yearly event and I would love to be part of all the 31 days this year. My goal is to have a good mobile camera before then, maybe a Samsung.
Hope you find a good camera during the year, some memories taken now are still vibrant showing the lifestyle during festivities.
Thank you.
The pictures look nice and clean, but just looking at a much better perspective because I've used better devices, so this one looks faded😹
Memory remains crisp in ones mind, picture is a reminder.....
