Still can't believe I took this photo of the sun peaking out.
The shot is taken as the first rays of sun begin to take over the sky while a solar prominence, which can be many times the diameter of Earth, erupts with violent energy. Prominences can extend several hundred thousand km above the sun. For comparison, the diameter of the earth is about 12,750 km.
