We had this monster chasing us down for a long time while way out at sea in the Bahamas. Left brain screaming “Oh %@#!, this could get bad,” while my right brain was simultaneously shouting, “Hell yes! I’ve always wanted to capture one of these!” If something like this hits your boat, it’s total devastation. Yet, it’s hard to describe the feeling when you see one—it’s almost like the Sirens of Ulysses calling you. The temptation to turn the boat around and sail up for a closer look is stronger than one would like to admit.
They look so freaking cool from a nice long way away.
Was it literally chasing you like if you jagged one way to get out of its path was it still following XD

Wow water spout 😅 I've seen tornados and dust devils even swirling flames in wildfires but never water spout. Very cool... from a safe distance

Great shot, it brought back memories of when I was in Mallorca way 33 years ago, I was looking out to see and thought something didn’t look right, I kept watching and it was if the sea was being sucked up and a cloud being pulled down and they me in the middle, sadly I didn’t have a camera to capture the event.
