My wife has been working for the same company for many years. Her employer's son, Oliver Bishop, has basically grown up in front of my wife. She has known him since he was about 8 years old. Today he is a young man who is passionate about his horses!
Since I can remember, my wife would come home and tell me about Oliver's passion for horses. He grew up with horses on his parent's farm in Kwazulu Natal.
At a very young age, he started competing in various disciplines in equestrian competitions.
If you have been following my posts lately, you would have noticed that we attended a show-jumping competition recently...and yes, Oliver was our main attraction!
Horses have absolutely become this young man's passion. He lives for his horses and it is evident when you see him on the back of a horse!
His girlfriend, Kerry Muir, also took part in the same competition and I covered one of her rounds in this post last week.
As promised in that post, I will cover Oliver Bishop's round in this post.
In the first photo, he was ready to enter the arena.
He first went to the opposite side of the arena, but after a few jumps, I was able to capture this shot of him clearing yet another jump.
After successfully completing more jumps, he moved to the outer end of the arena, turning back, preparing for the next jump...
Getting ready for the next hurdle...
And off he goes!
On his way back again, and he is about to clear the next hurdle...
And as if becoming one with his horse...over they go!
A perfect landing after another successful jump...
...and immediately turning toward the next jump.
Before approaching the next jump, I was able to get a nice close-up, as they passed right in front of me...
After completing his final jumps toward the far end of the arena, I took these last two shots of Oliver as he was about to leave the arena after an awesome round, clearly having a conversation with his horse as they were about to leave the arena. Isn't that a beautiful animal?
Next on the agenda for Oliver is the upcoming S.A. National Qualifying Round! If all goes well there, the S.A. Nationals Championship will be on his agenda after that.
Good luck, Oliver! We wish you success in these upcoming events!
In my next post, I will cover another round of his girlfriend, Kerry Muir.
And with that, I will end today's post.
Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!
Only ever had one friend who did show jumping when I was young, dedicated to grooming her horse daily. Oliver carries himself well on horseback, wish him for the upcoming events.
Brilliant captures!

Yes, what you say about your friend makes sense! And Oliver does carry himself well on horseback, doesn't he? Thanks for the good wishes! I will pass it on to him!
A lovely sport to watch!
