NATURE MACRO AND CLOSE-UP || ENG-ESP || (15 Pics)

Hello everyone dear #Hive photography lovers!... Today is Monday and I have started my "photographic week" immersed in the bushes and small woods around my village.... Well, to be honest, I have to confess that my first intention was to take some pictures in the towns's streets while I walking along them, but after noticing the sky morning brightness and the fresh gentle breeze blowing from East to West, I concluded that it was the ideal weather to take pictures in some nearby rural road...

This occasion I didn't have my old 100mm fixed macro lens attached to my camera. No, this time I had gone out carrying the small, light and always generously versatile 50mm f/1.8 Nikon lens (Yes, that "little thing" that almost all photographers love to use for "almost any photo we can think of")... But this accomplished little lens is not exactly the most suitable for close-up shots like these, and less to trying take closer macro shots... But not all was lost!... In my backpack I carried a Raynox DCR-150 close-up lens, lately I usually carry this accessory in my photography backpack, due my "macro addiction" has really come back with force this days and this little lens allows me to shorten the focusing distance of my conventional lenses whether they are fixed focal length or zoom... It's a nice, cheap and light piece of equipment!... ;)

Comparing these photos versus those I take with the 100mm lens, I find that these maintain a good level of detail, but it is also easy to notice that the minimum focusing distance, even though it is less than 30cm, does not generate the same 1:1 ratio that can be achieved with the lens designed for macro. So in almost all of these photos I have done some cropping in order to achieve more presence of the subjects in the photographic plane... But for the 400 GRS less weight hanging around my neck, this is really good.... :)

Combining the 50mm lens with the Raynox DCR-150 has an additional consequence: Making macros with this combination requires spending much more time adjusting the camera's settings to achieve the desired depth of field and brightness... I don't really know why this is so, but it happens when I check the histogram from one photo to another and I realise that I need to adjust several things to get a result more in line with what I want. I have placed some adjustment data at the bottom of each photo so you can see how varied the adjustments are. Please note that these photos were taken in semi-automatic aperture priority mode (A) and with manual focus... So this translates into a rather "artisanal" way of taking macro photos and that's fun! :)

Saludos @jlinaresp excelentes detalles fotográficos. Gracias por compartir. Felicidades, enhorabuena.

I'm amazed at how you've managed to get such clear and detailed photos with your setup.🥰

Glad you like this macro photography work @iamlovelykate friend! ;)

Nature is very beautiful, but we often do not recognize it.

Thanks for visit and appreciate @walindo friend!

My favorite. So sweet. The moth's expression reminds me of a little kid getting caught raiding the cookie jar in the middle of the night.

Wow!... :) That is an "almost poetic" way to describe a moth @corvidae friend!... You have a sweet soul!... Thank you for appreciating my work, I am very honored!...

THANKS a lot @dimascastillo90!... Glad you like this work!!! ;)

always an artistic type of macro shots from you my friend.
I hope that after I master the sharpness, I can get to the kind of artistic shots. : )
so beautiful. I was thinking of buying the raynox, before decided to go on with the extension tube.

Thank you @ekavieka friend for visit and appreciate my work...

If you don't have a dedicated macro lens, it seems to me that a very good option is a close-up lens like this Raynox... There are even higher magnification models like the DCR-250 (mine is DCR-150)... And you have the advantage of being able to take it off and on by simply tightening a couple of clips!... That's nice!... Plus, it allows you to continue using all the lens automation without problems... I've never used extension tubes, but life looks easier with a close-up lens!... ;)

Yes I was thinking that way as well. But during my early research (watching YouTube video) one account suggest me with the extension tube setup, and somehow I just go with it. Luckily it was still useable even after I switch to another camera brand after the old one broke down.

I need to save up some money so that I will be able to buy the dedicated macro lens, I also want to try the focus bracketing feature of this olympus lens.
