My hometown Montalbán (Venezuela) balances between the rural and the urban in a charming way. So my wanderings through the streets and country roads are full of eloquent images, some complex, others simple, many of them demonstrating the convergence of both facets of daily life here... In this publication you will find photographs which capture my particular vision of this ‘ blended frontier’ that I perceive when I explore the nooks and crannies of this municipality nestled between mountains in northern Venezuela... Mi pueblo Montalbán (Venezuela) se balancea entre lo rural y lo urbano de manera encantadora. Así que mis recorridos por las calles y los caminos campestres están repletos de imágenes elocuentes, algunas complejas, otras simples, muchas de ellas demostrando la convergencia de ambas facetas de la vida cotidiana aquí... The intention of this publication is primarily photographic. But taking this kind of photographs and then sharing them with you, is something that inevitably makes me feel immersed in the documentary aspect (which I like very much by the way). So, as soon as I started selecting these photos from my recent archives, I decided to convert them all to a monochromatic scheme based on pure black and white (which I also love to do, as many of you may already know). So, at the end of the day, this is an article in which I expose in a quite complete way my general vision of Montalbán as a place to record images, experiences and stories in a unique way... I look at these photos and I understand even more why I love doing this.... I've said it before: “If I didn't live here, I would have surely moved to this place to take these kinds of pictures”...
La intención de esta publicación es primeramente fotográfica. Pero hacer este tipo de fotografías y luego compartirlas con ustedes, es algo que inevitablemente me hace sentir inmerso en el aspecto documental (cosa la cual me gusta mucho por cierto). Entonces, apenas comencé a seleccionar estas fotos de entre mis archivos recientes, decidí virarles todas a un esquema monocromático basado en blanco y negro puro (cosa la cual también me gusta mucho hacer, como ya muchos de ustedes sabrán). Así que al final del día, este es un articulo en donde expongo de manera bastante completa mi visión general de Montalbán como un lugar para registrar imágenes, vivencias e historias al unísono... Miro estas fotos y entiendo aún más porqué amo hacer esto... Ya lo he dicho antes: "Si yo no viviese aquí, seguro me hubiese mudado a este lugar para hacer este tipo de fotos"...

There's no doubt that being here in this wonderful #web3 corner has provided a valuable boost to my ability to create content like this...

This is a town with what I like to call: “A great visual diversity”... All these photos were taken in a valley whose length barely exceeds 10 kilometers from North to South... If I take my old bicycle and make a little effort, I can cross the town from end to end in just over an hour and still have time to take pictures... This is really fun and I call it “getting lucky”... ;)
Este es un pueblo con eso que me gusta llamar: "Una gran diversidad visual"... Todas estas fotos fueron hechas en un valle cuya longitud apenas sobrepasa los 10 kilómetros de Norte a Sur... Sí tomo mi vieja bicicleta y hago un poco de esfuerzo, puedo atravesar el municipio de punta a punta en poco más de una hora y aún así tener tiempo de tomar fotografías... Esto es realmente divertido y yo lo llamo "tener suerte"... ;)

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.
NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografias capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape 3.6.3.

Pero es que está hecha e un camino alejado del pueblo que es u lugar mágico, con una arboleda llena de bucares, samanes y ceibas que parecen sacados de un libro... Hoy precisamente mi Mamá me estaba diciendo que esa foto le gustaba mucho y me preguntó donde la hice... Le dije que es un lugar en donde provoca sentarse en la orilla del camino a meditar y mandar a todo el mundo al caraj.... hehehe 🤣... Gracias por pasar y apreciar mi trabajo...
