The “Andrés Bello Street” in my town, ends abruptly at its western side in a narrow alley which I used to call “ The Cats' Alley” and this is due to the fact that if you pass by that place in the early hours, you will find there a bunch of stray cats (and others I guess belonging to some people) taking the morning sun and seeming to talk to each other 😻.... Can anything be more charming and photo worthy?...
La "Calle Andrés Bello" de mi pueblo, termina de manera abrupta en su extremo oeste en un agosto callejón al cual yo acostumbro llamara "El Callejón de los gatos" y esto se debe a que si usted pasa por ese lugar en horas tempranas, encontrará allí un montón de gatos callejeros (y otros supongo que pertenecientes a alguien) tomando el sol de la mañana y pareciendo conversar entre ellos 😻... ¿Puede acaso algo más encantador y digno de hacerle fotos?...
There are other alleys similar to this one in my town, but the truth is that in no other I have observed so many cats together and seeming to be in a sort of “gathering”... I have asked the neighbors around this place and they have answered me that many of these lovely kittens live in the wooded areas on the edge of town which adjoin the alley, others are “semi-domesticated” and the people there feed and water them. The alley is a very little-traveled place, so it seems these felines feel at ease there. An elderly lady neighbor of this place, told me that many of these cats sleep on the doorsteps and in the inner courtyards of the surrounding houses. So this place seems to have something special for cats and has become a small sanctuary and refuge for many of them.... Although Montalbán is a town with cats everywhere (and you can corroborate it by looking at my street photos where many kittens appear) this alley stands out for the constant presence of these “communal pets”... So I love to go here to take pictures!...
Hay otros callejones similares a este n mi pueblo, pero la verdad es que en ningún otro he observado tantos gatos juntos y pareciendo estar en una especia de "reunión"... Le he preguntado a los vecinos alrededor de este lugar y me han contestado que muchos de estos encantadores gatitos viven en las áreas boscosas del margen del pueblo las cuales colindan con el callejón, otros son "semi-domesticados" y las personas allí les dan de comer y les colocan agua. El callejón es un lugar muy poco transitado, así que al parecer estos felinos se sienten a sus anchas allí. Una señora mayor vecina de este lugar, me dijo que muchos de esos gatos duermen en los umbrales y en los patios internos de las casas alrededor. Así que este lugar parece tener algo especial para los gatos y se ha convertido en un pequeño santuario y refugio para muchos de ellos... Aunque Montalbán es un pueblo con gatos por todas partes (y pueden corroborarlo mirando mis fotos callejeras en onde aparecen muchos gatitos) este callejón sobresale por la constante presencia de estas "mascotas comunales"... ¡Así que amo veir aquí a hacer fotos!...
This is a paradise for someone who (like me) loves cats and likes to take pictures of them!... Even though some of these kitties live in the nearby wooded area, they are all very docile and just sit there quietly “taking the morning sun” while I even sit on the pavement in the middle of the alley and take pictures of them... The first time I came here, the neighbors amusedly came out of their doors to look at me, but now I do this relatively often and I seem a common occurrence to them... I also often visit these cats without my camera and bring them something to eat to help a little with the work the neighbors are doing... I have to say that almost all of them look quite healthy and I very rarely observe any of them with signs of having quarreled with another cat, which is typical among them especially if they are male individuals... So these seem to be pretty calm cats! ;)
¡Este es un paraíso para alguien quien (como yo) ame a los gatos y guste de hacer les fotos!... A pesar de que algunos de estos gatitos viven en el área boscosa cercana, todos son muy dóciles y simplemente se quedan allí tranquilos "tomando el sol de la mañana" mientras yo incluso me siento sobre el pavimento en mitad del callejón y les hago fotos... La primera vez que vine aquí, los vecinos salieron divertidos a las puertas de sus casas a mirarme, pero ahora hago esto con relativa frecuencia y ya les parezco algo común... También suelo visitar a estos gatos sin mi cámara y les traigo algo de comer para ayudar un poco a la labor que hacen los vecinos... Tengo que decir que casi todos lucen bastante saludables y muy rara vez observo alguno con signos de haber reñido con otro gato, cosa típica entre ellos especialmente si se trata de individuos machos... ¡Así que estos parecen ser gatos bastante tranquilos! ;)
And of course, some kind of “intruder” may appear from time to time!... hahaha :))... But these cats are peaceful enough, to remain unperturbed by the presence of a nice little dog who was curious to know what was going on in the alley...
¡Y por supuesto, puede aparecer una especie de "intruso" de vez en cuando!... hahaha :))... Pero estos gatos son los suficientemente pacíficos, como para permanecer inmutables ante la presencia de un simpático perrito el cual sintió curiosidad por saber que estaba pasando en el callejón...
ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.
NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografías capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape 3.6.3.
