Heatwave Alert Next Round!
Walk on tar you could fry an egg on, sand on beaches much the same, you move early morning or late afternoon, hide away in cooler surroundings most of the daylight hours.
What makes Durban so uncomfortable, well today at 30°C with humidity feels like 35°C, nights not much better 26°C feels like 30 taking 30°C - 86° Fahrenheit. Joy of joys next week 35°C with feel like 40°C, some inland places passing the forty already although not having the extreme humidity it is hard to compare. Humans body core heat averagely ticks over at 34°C.
Bugger this heat let's get outdoors, see what is going on...,
Night-blooming cactus stand tall on long limbs, yet to see the flower open as venturing around the garden at night not really an option!
Macro of bloom showing signs of one night stand, ants enjoying the sweetness before sunset arrives.
Now I did mention the midday sun eats you, watch the birds finding comfort in the shade of a thick leaved succulent plant, I think a Mauritius hemp (Furcraea foetida) or similar species.
At first shy, sitting in deep shade on the wall about five foot away a Vervet monkey,
Second thoughts to hell with it, let it all hang out it's too bloody hot today!
Spiders deep nesting within the air-plants again well hidden from the midday son, event insects know how to build for comfort.
Confusion reigns above, clouds simply cannot make up their mind as to what direction to take the heat eats much up, we wait patiently for rain to quench all below.
Ruffled feathers to say the least, sizzling hot this little one appears to have taken to the bird pond then find a perch high enough looking to feel a breeze. Open them feather up, called natural air-conditioning.
If you like the heat, enjoy baking sun then Durban is the place for you, February being on average our hottest month of the year!
What else is happening in South Africa, well load-shedding is back (no electricity), water-shedding is ongoing, politicians spewing verbal crap adding more to the already over burdened law book with BEE, rats I wonder when ambling around when this will end!

Meanwhile Christchurch has had no summer even though it's summer season, very cold daily wearing 2 to 3 layers and when warms up just enough to dress in 1 layer, sorry is your name going out with a jersey as the weather changes quickly.
Amazing how it is hot in one part of the world and cold at the other.
Damn it you have to deal with load shedding again.
!PIZZA
Yup although overcast today this is the temperature....
Aircon, a wish and prayer the electricity does not go off, it appears many soccer matches on the go, promise of no loadshedding today, fickle bunch aren't they!
Wouldn't mind test driving a year there then deciding whether I could live in cooler conditions, now that would be fun!
I saw some amazing pictures my friend.
Thank you for visiting, I enjoy showing the seasonal change, have a little grumble as I don't enjoy the heat. 🤣
I understand that hot weather is not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm glad you can still enjoy the beauty of nature."
Love nature except fly and mosquito....
That monkeys expression is like "huhh life sucks" lolzz
He sure sat his ground in the shade, life does suck when it's this hot!
Lolzz it is so everywhere i guess i prefer the cold AC to the hot sun
Basically all I do during the heat of the day if we have electricity.
Lolzzz needed ... hmmm have electricity i thought over there the light is constant
No we can be without electricity for hours or days, never know when the next round hits us!
Still nature shows it's amazing beauty despite of the scorching heat. I thought February is colder compared to other months of the year.
Not where we live, it steaming hot through the month! Nature always lures one outdoors to take a look.

We're supposed to have loadshedding from 6pm, 5 min time! I've got the aircon flying hoping it will cool things down a bit. It's been awful!
The birds and the bees are way more clever cooling off in nature.
Have a lovely weekend Joan <3
No water yesterday, this morning 3am to 10am no electricity, apparently again at 10pm till after midnight.
Hope all the fleas infect the armpits of the powers that be! If that doesn't work send swarms of mosquitoes to suck them dry.... rant and rave
Will try enjoy the weekend, you too! ❤️
Haha Joan, what made you think of that🤣🤣🤣 Imagine them trying to stay composed with that happening under those suits!
I can laugh now but understand how you must have felt! Ironic that we have a water crisis despite all the rain! But apparently more than half the supply is lost through poor infrastructure!!! They need to be invaded by worse things so the DA can take over and try to fix some of the damage.
Loadshedding now till 6, so I'm sitting back taking a break!
At least nice and cool today, enjoy your Saturday Joan 💞
One of my Dad's sayings, I think years in North Africa fighting has affected my outlook!
Load shedding here from 8pm so yup we back in the grinder, thankfully a bit cooler, still humid as hell! (Will DM you some links to watch while you wile away time).
Take care and sending love, no more opsit kers at our age!

Thanks @hivebuzz a day I never forget, birthday of my niece, she would have been 51 today.
It's touching to hear that Hive Power Up Day coincides with such a meaningful date for you.
Miss her discussions on web building, crypto and anything that led to slightly off-track from most, interesting young lady to say the least!
BTW, sorry to jump to something off topic but may I ask you to support the new proposal (#329) so HiveSQL can stay free for the community?
Thank you!
Though I had, alas now done, thanks for reminder 🙃
I had to google palputating!!!!!
and what I thought was a cute hamster was a rat??? sheesh , like how the snap is teemed up with the word "politicians"
Still researching and asking if it is a rat or mouse, either way it summed up our politicians perfectly in context, spineless thieves, actually rat or mouse gets more respect from me.
LOl i get that sentiment
Good morning dear friend @joanstewart how are you?
I'm sorry the weather is playing a trick on you, here in my city we are in the same situation
I'm glad you went out into the garden to find some comfort and appreciate the wonder of nature
Beautiful photographs. Enjoy the weekend
Extremely hot weather and I are not best of friends, the garden has regular visits irrespective with Woody needing to go out and won't go on his own.
Enjoy seeing your shaded walks you take with a quiet area close to you, always enjoyable being outside.
!LUV Happy day to you and yours.

I don't like the heat at all. I hope the heat wave is mild and passes soon.
You describe what is happening in South Africa and I could copy it to describe Venezuela. How sad... let's hope to see better times.
Politicians promoting communism, keeping children uneducated by design, the country is filled with corruption and crime yet they run an open border to our North. I do not feel sorry for them when turned on, it is the people who suffer.
We hope for brighter futures, as the people we know what we must do.
Have a wonderful new week!
