Tall Short Fat Or Thin
Of late itchy feet are starting to get to me, missing the annual break away somewhere into the bushveld, next best go through photography from last visit, guess what many not used so this is to take away the blues.
Going out packing a picnic lunch leaving early, come home late it is always on the day as to what steps out to greet. iSimangaliso Wetland Park never lets me down, a National Park teaming with life from the minute you enter the 332000 hectares.
You not always going to see the big five (wild cats are here, wild dogs too) possibility is always around the next corner, this is a region never to disappoint in animals or bird watching, time to stretch out with photography.
Buffalo in the grasses to Waterbuck peeking at you no yet moving around they watch us as we do them.
Peering through acacia thorn bush young female Kudu ever watchful, friend or foe.
Young bushbuck nibbling leaves before the sun dries them out, healthy start to the day.
Red duiker appears to be of the same mind swishing it's tail to and fro, what a lovely morning out.
Ambling along a Warthog on bended knee enjoying brunch snuffling around for roots as they often do.
Zebra standing tall and proud in painted pajama outfit, actually his everyday best!
Around the corner Wildebeest stand guard warning you, this is our family formation, you're not welcome.
Not so happy Hippo grunting and groaning around a small body of water, some in the water cooling off rest of the family shuffling around the bank, with an onlooker!
Giraffe moving along slightly aside from much bigger herd of around ten with his hitchhiker firmly attached having a snack.
Later in the afternoon herd of Kudu moving through the bush to another spot, this was rather a large family together a first to see so many.
Most get very excited sighting any of the big five so here is one from relatively close to the road to make your day, African Buffalo.
Leaving you with over a dozen or so photos to reflect on why not to visit Africa once in a lifetime, the Burchell's zebra showing reflections of memories I have thoroughly enjoyed sharing today.
Greetings and well wishes staying positive every day, thanks for visiting as always.

All photography is my own using Canon Powershot. Any queries or requests please drop a comment below or make contact with me, have a wonderful day! Photography without tripod, go with the flow wherever life takes you.
Thought for Today: "The attacks of a wild beast cannot be averted with only bare hands." - African Proverb

Such beautiful scenes, a wonderful place to live, and visit which I hope to do soon, before I get too old to manage or remember, if I don't run out of money before then that is.
I saw this picture this morning, I wanted to share with you (from a friend back home where we went to school together)
This picture says a lot , the cow had charged the horse , he bit her in face , gave Sweetie ( cowboy on right side of picture jumping ) time to the jump fence ....
All this is from back home, you are looking at farm life in rural S Ga USA

Farm life also great, visited a couple of farms when young with family friends, alas all gone now.
Always some humour to be had with animals doing the unthinkable, like nipping each other. !LOLZ
Beautiful photographs, thank you very much for sharing with us.
have a beautiful sundayWhat a large area this national park has, dear friend @joanstewart, and what beautiful shots you have been able to take, I like to see them calmly enjoying their habitat. My granddaughter Abigail is passionate about animals, this would be a place to visit with her
One of the many parks in the region, anyone coming this way has great selection in what they would love to enjoy. Thanks for support and love to the family, perhaps one day Abigail will arrive on our shores.
Love it. Nothing too technical, just raw, unadulterated images. Sometimes people get so absorbed by getting the perfect technical shot that they miss the serenity of the moment which in my humble opinion... You have captured beautifully.
Being anywhere to watch nature in it's own environment gives me the greatest thrill, makes living all worthwhile. What is perfect, that moment is/was!
I could really sense that in the images. I love the candid nature of your images. We as photographers get bogged down in golden ratios and perfect moments but the ambient serenity and apparent lack of awareness is just awe-inspiring. You Rock!
Large or small each deserves our respect, couple of years ago on this platform I simply did bums, how often don't you go for the photo and they turn? Simple things in life that make one smile in delight.

wow, a living breathing 'zoo" where our friends can roam free, mind you those wilderbeast look quite aggressive!
Wildebeest always make a defensive formation, normally zebra are close to them as well.
ah, thats clever the zebra uses them as bodyguards, nature, amazing truly amazing
Strength in numbers in the wild, always....
sounds like the feral gangs that roam the streets of Uk cities
Feral humans here run up with a blade to slice and dice you, or blow a bullet through your head without thought...
sounds like london manchester liverpool and birmingham!! but perhaps on a grander scale
There are lots of animals that we can see in Africa, unfortunately I can only see them on TV😓
Africa is a very affordable destination for those interested in experiencing life in the wild. !LOLZ
darling it's very far from where I live, maybe someday😁
Hopefully one day soon....
Thank you so much

Little planning, some travel, always well worth the visit with all that is on offer. Thanks for the token and visit.
How wonderful it must be to get so close to the variety of wildlife surrounding you. I love all the photos, especially the giraffes as they are one of my favorite animals. Wonderful captures, Joan.
We have such fun normally seeing quite a number of giraffe young and old out in the open, once they retreat into the bush, one hardly sees them except if their head sticks out !LOLZ
