What’s up, Hive? I’m at @caffetto right now. I’m hanging out with @guthrie; he’s working on a homework assignment and I decided to get ahead of things by writing my blog post for the evening. I’m going through some massive upheavals in my personal life. I’m still dealing with a lower back injury from the LA and Vegas trip and although I’m in pain, I’m mobile. Once I’m at that point, I typically try to push a workout right through it. I made it to kickboxing tonight and after stretching and working out, I’m riding that seratonin high and feeling physically rejuvenated.
Tonight, I wanted to share a few images from my last shoot in Las Vegas. The Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend goes from Friday to Sunday night. I typically book a few fun shoots on Monday or Tuesday, and this was one of those occasions. I’ve been shooting with my friend Lisa Del Toro for a decade. Our collaborations are consistently some of my most popular. Over the last couple of years, she’s gravitated to a Southwestern lifestyle spending much of her free time on a ranch just outside of the Las Vegas strip. This is where she wanted to shoot.
She befriended a horse named Cooper has spent months working with him, acclimating him and familiarizing him with people. Lisa contacted me in February and asked if I’d be able to fit her in for another shoot. Of course I agreed, and after the time in LA and Vegas, I drove to the ranch. I’m actually afraid of horses […any large animal that could physically kill me, actually] but I immediately felt comforted meeting Cooper. I was cautious, but he was even calm around the clicking of my camera being pointed at him.
As the wind calmed down and the sun set, we walked Cooper to a clearing on wedding grounds near the ranch. It was one of those moments that everything came together in perfect harmony. Lisa was half sure the entire shoot would be cancelled, but for 90 minutes, the weather, the surroundings, the sun, the model and the horse all cooperated. It was beautiful. I shot almost 900 photos in an hour and a half and these are just the first few that I grabbed out of memorable shoot. Having the opportunity to capture the bond between Lisa and Cooper was a privilege I’ll always be grateful for.

This post was curated by @visualshots to support your work.I hope your back gets better. I know how rough that can be. I have dealt with it most of my adult life off and on. I'm not really a fan of chiropractors, but finding the right one can be amazing. It took me several tries to find one who actually got to the root of the problem. Most of them just like to crack and I hate the cracking. My old one did kinesiology and leaned more towards Eastern medicine with pressure points and stuff like that.
Thank you, @bozz. It's been a few days. I am feeling better. I saw a chiropractor and I made it to a few kickboxing classes this week. All better.
That's great!
I salute your grit to kick that pain of yours with stretching and kickboxing
These pains can be quite bothersome and I hope you recover quickly.
Great photoshoot and each shot is so nicely composed and you have frozen that moment of time so beautifully.

I hope your back pain gets better very soon, with rest and proper treatment you should be fine in a few days, in this case it is preferable that you use an injected medication. In this picture you can see how the perfect harmony flows between Lisa and Cooper, there are no words to define how wonderful this shot was. You are a genius, I can imagine the effort to be able to capture 900 photos in an hour and a half, congratulations for your great vocation and dedication.
Thank you very much for sharing, I enjoyed it very much, best regards! @kommienezuspadt
Thank you @kristal24. I do feel better as of today. The last few days have been busy. I made it to a chiropractor and managed to get in some exercise and stretching. I feel much better now. Thanks for the comment and support.
