Today is a new year for Nepalese people. It usually falls in the month of April. The new year is called Bikram Smbat and this tradition was started by the autocratic Rana regime in 1901 AD and had been upholded since then by the netizens. It is also a national holiday in the country. And there's nothing enjoyable than walking along the street in the eve night. The street was looking very active and alive even during and after the midnight.
But sadly it rained a little bit during the eve. There was thunder and lightning in the sky. I had to stop for a while until rain was normal. The famous street of Kathmandu never sleeps during the new year and there are concerts organised everywhere, live music. Pubs, bars and restaurants are opened throughout the night. Many people are awake throughout the night to welcome the another year, another phase to start a new life forgetting the old one thinking it's time to rectify their old mistake.
