Two Roses and a ... Sunflower

Hello everyone, I am so glad to be able to post today. The last few days were hectic and I was not able to be as active as before in the online world.

But I got a bit of time off today and I want to share with you three photographs of three special flowers (two roses and a sunflower) I captured in a month of October back in 2017. I call them survivors, because they are.

I will start with this beautiful red rose.

The StoryI captured this photograph about 4 years and a half ago when I was walking with my DSLR and looking for things to capture in Alexandra Park, Hastings and I saw a lot of flowers, in special roses. Most of them were withered because of cold weather, but not this one. I also edited the image in Lightroom and adapted the spot colour photography style, which I just love it! Furthermore to this, I was surprised the rose was still alive as it was already October and the weather is getting quite cold in the UK. I guess it's a survivor.

Same day, same time, I was able to find this:
A yellow rose - Another survivor

The StoryThere was something off about this image when I captured it. Initially, I didn't want to use it as it was nothing special, but then I realized the darkened background actually makes this flower pop. So, I edited it in the lightroom and gave it a bit more life. In the end, I love it and is part of my portfolio.

Is it a sunflower? I think it is

The StoryAlthough it doesn't look much like a typical sunflower, I am terrible at identifying flowers and plant species. I think it is, possible a very young one. Interesting is that this little survivor, if it's just a baby, what was he doing up in October? Such a late time to live. Moreover, the flower wasn't together with the others, it was a lonely flower I'd seen near some bushes around. A lone survivor, you have my respect!

I try to keep this post short and sweet, like those three survivors found in a month of October. Thank you very much for reading my post, I really appreciate it. I hope you're doing well and I wish you all the best.

We’ve got a few roses we need to dig out and take with us when we move house. There’s a place we’ve got them all from down in Dorset, Cranbourne garden centre. It’s a lovely one to go to even if not buying anything!

I always loved roses as flowers. They can withstand more extreme conditions than other plants; I don't know, I guess they are my favourite flowers, although I am a man :)

Lol! It’s ok for us men to like flowers you know!!

I love how the first one turned out! taking about survivors, I found raspberries in the middle of december. I call those 'war heroes'! :))

Raspberries in the middle of December, wow! That sounds amazing. In the UK, I also photographed snowdrops in January, 4 years ago. I haven't gone much outdoors lately, but if I have a trip to parks, I may see snowdrops already (I hope).

What a beautiful picture! Nature and climatic changes definetely have changed over the last years...
:-(
So yeah, here's the photo I took. Sad I didn't take a picture to the raspberry bush.:-( There were only few though and now that I looked up for this photo, I saw that it was the beginning of december, not middle. But still....:d

Wow, still in December. That is unnatural, indeed.
p.s. I like a lot the raspberries.
Thank you for sharing the photo with me! That looks tasty :)

They very pretty sour though! Btw, do you use discord?

I have discord but I rarely use it because my friend list is very thin :)
