Hello Photography Lovers friends!
Warm greetings from us, Bro Ikram and I, who have just returned from a street photography adventure in Bireuen City, Aceh. We want to share our stories and experiences in capturing the fascinating daily life there. We hope that our story can inspire and enrich our collective passion for photography.
Bro Ikram and I, who happen to both have an interest in photography, decided to spend our leave traveling around the city of Bireuen, Aceh, to explore the potential of street photography. The two of us left from where we live which is about 22km from our village, a journey of about 45 minutes by car. Upon arrival in town, we parked the car in Suzuya and continued our journey on foot, ready to capture the interesting moments around us.
We started our adventure by taking portrait photos in the typical small alleys of Bireuen City. Between our fun conversations, we share ideas about interesting angles, light, and compositions to capture. I took several portraits with a Sony A6400 camera with a Sigma 16mm f1.4 lens, while Bro Ikram used a Canon 600d camera with his kit lens. Our differences in photography equipment provided an opportunity to compare how we each see and capture the beauty of this busy street.
As we walked along the alleys filled with colorful typical Acehnese buildings, we became interested in the daily lives of local residents. We met a friendly vegetable seller, a small child playing in his yard, and a group of mothers chatting on their terrace. We immortalize all these moments in our photos.

After traveling about 45 minutes by car from our village which is about 22km away, we arrived in town and parked the car at Suzuya. Then, we continued our journey on foot, ready to capture the interesting moments around us.
Our adventure began by taking portrait photos in small alleys in urban Bireuen. We both shared ideas about interesting angles, light, and compositions to capture. I used a Sony A6400 camera with a Sigma 16mm f1.4 lens, while Bro Ikram used a Canon 600d camera with the kit lens. Our different photography equipment provides the opportunity to see and capture the beauty of these streets from different perspectives.
During the trip, we stopped at a coffee shop to rest for a while. There, we enjoyed a cup of coffee while talking about our experiences and planning the next places we wanted to visit to photograph. We also stopped at a vape shop where we bought some vape liquid and voil. This was an interesting additional experience during our adventure in this city.
We continued walking through the narrow, winding alleys, capturing the smiles of local residents and the colors of their daily lives. Our street photography adventure in Bireuen City ended when the sun began to set. We left the city with hearts full of joy and hundreds of photos depicting the life and beauty of the streets of urban Bireuen. This experience not only enriched our photo collection, but also enriched our friendship as photography lovers who share the same passion.
Bro Ikram focused on photographing the tables of the small kiosk which was closed that day. Meticulously, he captured interesting details such as the mix of wood colors and the contrasting background under the soft evening light. Through his unique perspective, Bro Ikram manages to liven up the atmosphere of a quiet kiosk, showing the beauty in simple, everyday things. His portraits invite us to reflect on the message of seeing the beauty around us, even in things that seem ordinary.

In the middle of a busy alley, several used TVs were seen placed in front of a small kiosk which appeared to be a closed electronics service center.

It turned out that in one of the alleys we passed, there was a coffee shop open. We decided to take a break and enjoy a cup of coffee.
