We live in a very rural area. Actually, it's a rural area mixed in with state and national parks. Lately, the development wave from the greater Atlanta area has started to invade our little piece pf heaven. On the fringes farms are now being sold off to developers, and modest ranch-style homes are sold, demolished and replaced by country McMansions.
As I drive around the still beautiful countryside, I frequently pass old abandoned buildings that tell a story of a lifestyle now almost lost and about to be erased. Today I passed another of these buildings and dercided that from now on, I am going to start recording these relics of the past while they still exist.
So, here's my first attempt: an old barn and shed not too far outside Dawsonville, GA. The farmhouse still seems to be occupied, but the barn has been long out of use, by the looks of it.
