These pictures are the first wild fungi I encountered in years. Funnily enough while taking these pictures, my neighbor asked me if I had never seen one back in the city. I certainly didn’t, as I am often cooped up inside and working. I hardly go outside other than the times I am traveling and that too, no matter how hard I try looking for it, I would not find it. The only fungus that I’ve seen are mostly anything posted in Hive and the mushroom that I know from nootropics stores. I am also not well-versed in fungus other than the nootropic one, such as lion's mane, chaga and cordyceps. Through hive, I have seen way too many fungus and they all look pretty fascinating to my eyes. From what I know, fungus grows in the more rural side of the country and even provinces with more natural resources than the places I’ve been to, especially the cities. Even when I was walking to pine forest and some small rainforests, I could not find these mushrooms.
It was only when my mom and I were walking back home from doing a small grocery. My mom pointed out the mushroom that grows wild on the tree bark. I ended up getting my camera and started taking pictures of it. The position was not ideal and it was difficult to get the best shoot for a single mushroom with depth of field and macro. From what I saw there are three different mushrooms which grew in that tree bark. I had no idea how they could grow in an open area but apparently, that’s what happened with those mushrooms. I am pretty sure that if I explored other parts of the neighborhood I could find more mushrooms, lots of butterflies and bugs. Sadly, the weather has been hot and it’s not really fun to walk or even do any activity outdoors.
I don’t know if these mushrooms are edible but they look like they don’t. I remember reading that we have to be careful with these fungus. Anyhow, I was expecting to find psilocybin but I guess, it’s just not the place to find that. Maybe, one day I can see those mushrooms with my own eyes as I heard from people around, they grow quite easily around a cow's shed. So, that’ll have me travel to other parts of the country with plenty of mushrooms and maybe the rural side with cow’s sheds.
The fungus were pretty fun to look at and made me realize how I’ve not even walked around my neighborhood for years now. I used to climb trees in the neighborhood, chasing butterflies, birds, or just stray cats. Things certainly have changed and people I used to know have left but the neighborhood stayed the same and it’s just as lively as I remembered, only I was not too attentive whenever I came home.
Since now I have the opportunity to walk the cat, I am also exploring the neighborhood during the dawn with Shiro. He’s a good conversation starter and excuse as I don’t like talking to my neighbors a lot. I just want to look at greenery and find some more wild mushrooms while walking with Shiro.

I love your findings and the story too! Mushrooms are weird like that - you don’t see them, until you see them and then you can’t unsee them. If you start eating them too, then they’ll forever hunt you, come to your dreams and all 😂
I hope from now on, you’ll get to find more and more of them 💙
Thank you so much! I guess that's gonna be a lucky day if I ever see a mushroom again. Since trust me, I tried and once even mistaken a crushed bottle cap as mushroom while I was trekking in the forest with my mom 🤣. I was that desperate finding mushroom but now that I've seen it, it's all good haha
Haha, you’ll find more, I promise! When you find next one, please tag me in your post about it 😁💙
There are pine groves here, a little different from the ones in the photo, but they taste delicious.
You should show me the picture! maybe when I travel to pine forest I came across them?
Valuable details ❤️❤️
Thank you!
Beautiful photographys
thanks!
Amazing mushroom photo. I often look for mushrooms around near the forest at my place. However, have never come across a mushroom like this. Yes, I hope one day I can find it. thank you for sharing
I bet there's a lot of mushroom at your place?
Honestly, this is my first of coming across it
you've never seen fungi before?
Where does everyone take those kinds of photos? Ive seen them grow against trunks and so on but never that huge, and I've probably seen it like twice. The rest ive seen all grew on the ground and well they aren't something to look at🤣
I have no idea haha I found them randomly and I think the more you try to find it, you can't find it. 😄
