If on the 14th you have seen the strawberry moon from me, this time it's another supermoon strawberry moon. Apparently, this phenomenon lasts for 2 days from 14 to 15. Sadly during the 15th, it was a bit cloudy and made it more difficult for me to capture it. The wind was also quite strong that I have to hold my camera firmly and I can see my lens was a bit swaying. Not to mention, the unfavorable position where the moon was hidden behind the trees made it even more challenging for me to capture it.
Unlike the previous day where the moon position was much closer from my balcony, On the 15th it was quite far. As you can see at the end of this post that I captured some failed shoots and shaky too.
That one looks like it was peeking from behind the trees.
I should probably use centered spot but I have I forgot to switch it.
The last one is my most stable shoot and also the clearest of them all. At some point, I think I can make use of some shoot that makes the moon becomes double like this one.
It's kinda interesting effect and I could do something with that later on.
Those are the failed shots I have, I have to thank the wind for that . Did you get to see the strawberry moon?

The moon moves very fast, so you should get better shots with a faster shutter speed. Using quick shutter also helps if you don't have a tripod. Don't be afraid to push the ISO up to 800 or even 1600.
With a tripod you may get a good shot with 1/80s shutter, but if you want to shoot handheld, you should push it to 1/320s or more. It looks like that with your crop factor you may even have to double that, so 1/640s or more to get sharper images.
Personally I shoot with a 300 mm lens, coupled with a crop factor of 1.6, so my effective focal length is 480 mm. It means that I need to push the shutter well above 1/320s to get sharp images. Professionals often say that it should be equal or more to the length of the lens, but I've noticed that it doesn't always need to be so fast.
Happy shooting!
Thank you for these tips! I'll try to implement these in my next one.
You are welcome! I'll be waiting to see your results!
It's good that you have finally been able to observe the lunar phenomenon dear friend @macchiata
you took some beautiful shots
Here in my city we were prepared to take some shots, but the first day it was cloudy we couldn't see it and on the 15th it came out behind a tree which didn't allow us to take shots of them
Great shots, I appreciate you sharing with us
But the photos are still nice.
Thank you! apparently it turned out quite nice.
Demasiado preciosa, provoca verla y verla y verla toda la noche
I remember when the strawberry moon showed up. My partner and brother told me that it's nice to see it in our rooftop but sad coz I can't climb the stair they made. Our house is not yet done so there's no good stair to climb up yet. Also sad coz our phones can't capture good shot even if my partner use my phone when he went down to have it.
You still got a good shot there.
Thank you for the compliment. It's awesome that you were able to see it too!
