Árbol de Cacao o Theobroma cacao. Planta nativa de regiones tropicales y subtropicales de América. Theobroma significa, en griego, «alimento de los dioses».
Esta frondosa planta la pude encontrar en el patio de la casa de la Abuela, lamentablemente la abuela falleció hace unos meses pero aun continuo visitando la casa ya que mis tíos viven allí. De manera que pude sacar estas fotos, realmente me encantaron por ese color tan tropical que tiene este fruto.
Cacao Tree or Theobroma. It is a native plant of tropical and subtropical regions of America. Theobroma means, in Greek, "food of the gods."
I could find this lush plant in the courtyard of Grandma's house, unfortunately Grandma passed away a few months ago but I still continue to visit the house since my uncles live there. So I was able to take these photos, I really loved them because of that tropical color that this fruit has.

Lovely shots of Cacao Tree. These are some raw fruits there on the tree, when ripe the color turns dark brown and thats the time to reap the harvest of this tree. Its so amazing to see that we get cocoa from it and make cocoa powder and chocolates from it. Its such a long long journey of this fruit from tree to every household on planet Earth.
