In every safari, I try to capture the place we're going to, both its details and those moments where you can see other photographers working. The last time we went to Quinta de los Molinos, as some of you may already know from my previous posts, and what was special about this place for me was its butterfly house. This part of the Quinta has something special, and it's not just the fact that many butterflies coexist inside. Imagine a giant square covered by a mesh that turns it into a greenhouse for the type of plants in the area and its small inhabitants, that's what it's like. The following photos will show you the inside of the butterfly house at the moment when several photographers and models gathered there to create. I took the liberty of capturing @janetedita in action.
En cada Safari trato de capturar el lugar al que vamos, tanto sus detalles como esos momentos donde se ve a los demás fotógrafos trabajando. En la última ocasión se realizó en la Quinta de los Molinos como varios ya deben saber por mis publicaciones anteriores y lo especial de este lugar para mí fue su mariposario. Esta parte de la Quinta tiene algo especial y no es solo el hecho de muchas mariposas convivan en su interior. Imaginen un cuadrado gigante y cubierto por una malla que lo convierte en un vivero para el tipo de plantas que están en el espacio y sus pequeños habitantes, pues algo así es. Las siguientes fotos les mostraran su interior en los momentos en que varios fotógrafos y modelos se reunieron ahí para crear. Yo me tome la atribución de capturar a @janetedita en acción.
They say that the flapping of a single butterfly's wings can cause a tornado thousands of kilometers away, so it's good to know that I'm close to them because there are hundreds of butterflies according to the person who guided us. The following photos are of the only species of butterflies I saw in the place. I didn't ask, but it seems like it was the only one there. I took my time to capture it, not only because they can be restless with a dozen people around, but also because of my limitations for macro photography due to the lack of a lens for it. I could have tried with my 10-55mm lens, but I don't think it would make much of a difference compared to the 50mm, and I didn't want to lose the bokeh that this lens creates. Dicen por ahí que, el aleteo de una sola mariposa puede causar un tornado a miles de kilómetros, pues si es así es bueno saber que estoy cerca de estas porque son cientos de mariposas según la persona que nos guio. Las siguientes fotos son de la única especie de mariposas que vi en el lugar, no llegue a preguntar, pero parece que era la única que había. Me tome mi tiempo para capturarla y no solo por lo inquietas que pueden ser teniendo una docena de personas a su alrededor, sino por mis limitantes para la fotografía macro por la falta de un lente para ello. Podía intentar con mi 10-55mm, pero no creo que haga mucha diferencia contra el 50mm y, además, no quería perder el bocked que crea este lente. ¿Ustedes que hubieran hecho? The butterfly house at Quinta de los Molinos sounds like a unique and interesting place to visit. Who would think that butterflies need such a big and vast house considering how small most of the species are! Looks like a little jungle but made for butterflies instead of monkeys and reptiles :)
That’s a way of thinking that didn’t pass my mind, just figure that the space is also for the workers and visitors. But maybe butterflies need that space to fly without problems.
