The End Of The Summer Is Near

The daily maximum was 17 C yesterday and today it has been 13 C. It is very windy and it has rained a couple of times. Not the greatest weather and feels quite a drastic change from Sunday.

Some shots from the big lake:

The district of Niemi. That large concrete building in the background is where Viking malting house operates.

A large beachfront house in the district of Karjusaari about 3-4 km from where I shot this.

You can tell from how people dress that the hot summer weather is definitely over.

At a weekend at the end of August or the beginning of September there is always a funfair at the harbor. Too bad it will be cold.

Unpacking all the trucks and building the attractions must be a huge job.

All those meals are vegetarian.

That Vöner thing is a wheat-based meat substitute developed by a Helsinki restaurant owner in 2016. Some people say it's good. It won some contest. Maybe I'll try it. But it's quite expensive.

The complete change in weather is evident. Maybe I'm going to stop using shorts tomorrow. It's September anyway.

Not going to give in to temptations here.

You are right. But on the other hand, I'm looking forward to bright autumn colors. When it is calm, you can get fantastic opportunities to take photos of the colors reflected form lake and river surfaces.

November is my least favorite month. The light is scarce and there is no snow, yet. But as always, any difficulty is a challenge to be overcome. If darkness is a problem, extend exposure time and/or try and capture what is good about the low level of light and how it affects all surroundings.
