A Quiet Afternoon in a Park in London
It has been quite a big change for us moving from the Philippines to London. The surroundings and weather is very different from our country. Everything looks so beautiful and we only used to see these sort of places in the movies.
To get used to our surroundings we need to explore and go out more in spite of the cold weather. One of the accessible to visit are park, so please join me today on a nice quiet afternoon stroll.
I took a couple of shots of my wife on a bench beside the small lake. It looks like a nice quiet spot to read book or have a nice conversation.
There are a lot of birds in this park which I will go into detail some other time. It is very interesting for us to see a good number of species in one location. This is just one park we have visited so far and I am excited to see what we will discover in other parks.
There were ducks, gulls and even swans. If only I have brought along a zoom lens to get more detailed shots of these birds. Maybe on our next visit I could focus more on them. As of now I just took a couple of shots as we strolled along the park.
This park is a great habitat for these birds and sitting on a bench just watching these birds will make time fly by.
As we moved along we started to admire the beautiful trees in the area. It is still winter time and a lot of them have no leaves but still, they are beautiful. I'm excited to see what spring and summer look like. But I am more excited to experience autumn.
I do not know what kind of tree this is but looks like some sort of pine. It even has a lot of pine cone sort of thing. These are all very unusual and new to us as we do not have this in our country. So many new plants and trees around us and will try to find out more about them soon. Plants and trees are also great subjects. I just hope the residents will not find it unusual for me taking photos of common plants and trees in the area.
Looks like the park is also inhabited by squirrels. It is the first time seeing a squirrel and this one is giving us a stare-down. They don't seem to fear humans and look like they are waiting for us to give them something.
I'm not sure what this is but could be something significant in this park. The park is big and there are a lot of artifacts and details in the area.
A large open space that could be used as a football field. We saw some people walking and playing with their dogs in this area. Could be a bit muddy when it rains though.
After the quiet stroll thru the park we exited on the other end of the park. It was very relaxing coming to this park and for sure we will be visiting again.
Just outside there are a lot of shops, houses and building made from bricks. I guess this will be for another story. I just took a few shots before heading back home. I'm not sure when I will get used to our new surroundings as there always something new to see everyday.
Thank you for joining us today and I hope you enjoyed our afternoon stroll in the beautiful city of London. Hope to see you again soon.
Cheers!

The infrastructure looks aesthetic.
Which is better to live in Philippines or London?
I lived in the Philippines for so long and I am happy to experience London for a change. I love the Philippines but living here is a new challenge and experience.
Good luck and God bless in your new place. ☺️
Wow, what lovely views! The trees, and buildings, are so amazing. The ducks. Are those ducks move freely ? They don't have a cage? Nice They're so adorable. Thanks for sharing.
The birds are free and not afraid of people. People gives them food. Lots of ducks too 🙂
A new chapter in your photographic journey, as well as life in general!
Indeed a new chapter for us. From the islands to London 🙂. So many new subjects to shoot and it makes me very excited.
Love those brick buildings, and the trees in that park are so pretty! That looks like a fun place to explore! 😃
It's a very beautiful park and those are just a part of it. I would make a more detailed post about it soon. I just can't help going back to that park. Good place to relax.
That place looks extremely serene Snake!!! Hi Mhel!!!
That is a cedar tree, those cones are extremely sticky lol!!! If you stand back and look at it from a distance, and the tip is bent over at an angle, it's a Deodara cedar, if not it's probably just a Lebanon cedar if it's pretty wide compared to the height. Be careful walking under those, when they get large diameter and long in length branches, they tend to snap fairly easy.
Beautiful photos!
Don't forget (or you never saw it) @tattoodjay's #wednesdaywalk posts, pretty cool thing.
I had forgotten that you moved to London, it looks like you two are doing very well, I hope this is a change that was sorely needed and that you are very content there! ❤️
ps. here is a link to the different cedars just:

Hey @jamerussell thank you for the insight of the cedar tree and I think it might be the Lebanon type. I'll inspect it more closely when we pass by again. The trees surrounding us are all very interesting. Now I know the tree and now familiar with it the next time I see one.
I'm sure to join in #wednesdaywalk as I have been snapping a lot of photos lately 😄.
We are still very cold and they say it might start snowing again. We are quite happy here and focusing of living a life here for good if possible.
