Awakening of the Cat
It was 4:00 pm and I had nothing to do. I picked up my camera and took some random shots outside. I saw the stray cat that has been lurking around my brother-in-law's house. He always left some food outside for the cat and has been hanging around ever since. The is sort of a pet of my brother-in-law since she just hangs outside and comes and goes as she pleases.
She was having a nice nap on this beautiful afternoon. Looking at her kinda makes me a little bit sleepy too. I silently took some photos of the sleeping cat. Very careful not to disturb her slumber.
After a couple of shots, it seems I have awoken her. Half asleep she lifts her head with eyes still closed.
Very calmly she looks around her surroundings and investigates what's going on. Most stray cats feel threatened when people approach and just run away. Since this has become her domain she has no care in the world of what's happening around her.
She looks at me for a moment maybe trying to tell me to just leave her alone and let her sleep in peace.
After a few seconds, she gives out a big yawn, opening her mouth wide open and showing all her sharp teeth. The cat is still very sleepy, it seems she may have gone to a big party last night. My brother-in-law tells me that sometimes the cat would be away for days. He thought that she found a new home but after a few days, she comes back again.
She scans her surroundings again but with eyes closed. Maybe she still feels what is going on around her even if her eyes are closed. Maybe she is just bored just like me. Who knows what she is thinking right now? We are more of a dog person and never had a cat as a pet. With dogs we know if they want something, if they want a belly rub, if they want to go outside and if they are hungry.
My friend has a cat and he said that the behavior of cats is very different from dogs. Sometimes they are mischievous knocking things off intentionally. But cats can also be very affectionate.
It seems she is still very sleepy and decided to lay her head back on the gutter. Shutting one eye and closing the other a few moments later. Back to her peaceful sleep in this warm, beautiful afternoon.
Thank you for joining us this today and if you love cats I'd love to hear your stories. Are they mischievous? Do they creepily watch you while you sleep at night?
In this case, it seems I was the one who was creepily watching her sleep 😆.
What are your thoughts and if you like the photos please let me know in the comments.
Until then hope to see you again soon. Cheers!
