Welcome to this blog in which I tell you about my journey to take these urban photographs. That day I was accompanied by two models and another photographer and we almost didn't make this session.

I will show you some photo that I achieved for my Instagram account @fotosymedia and I have not yet uploaded to that social network for organizational issues of how the feed looks and not to repeat the protagonist of the photos I've taken.
¿What makes a good urban photograph? Is it the focus, the lighting, the colors, the framing? Those factors are important, but in my opinion the most important thing is the opportunity and the experiences.
Urban photography is well known because it is done on the street, with the presence of passersby, moving cars and the weather changes so quickly that an excellent photo can be overexposed or too dark.
To all of this I consider the model's experience to be most important, because there is an alternate reality, so to speak, as the model poses in front of onlookers, trying to look flawless despite the cold or heat, and having to touch up both her hair and makeup more frequently than if she were in the studio.
These interruptions are part of the challenge of the photo shoot and, along with the natural lighting, make you lose the connection between the photographer and the person in front of the lens.
I shot this session in Caracas, Venezuela, in an area east of the capital called Las Mercedes. The main location was near the Tolon Mall.
Making these photos had its complicated part, because there are unsafe places where you can be a victim of the underworld and because there are places where they ran us to prevent us from taking pictures outside some stores.
In fact, a security guard of a bank told us that we could not take pictures in front of the bank, even though we did not want the logo of that institution to appear in the frames.
For me the most eye-catching scenes were the ones we did in the middle of the traffic, on the side of the road, without impeding the free traffic and, above all, without exposing the model or myself to be hit by a vehicle.
I have seen that other photographers and models stop traffic and stop free transit to get a good photo, which I see as an abuse in every way. I guess those people I'm referring to are more daring behind and in front of the cameras, or looking for the virality of the networks, but I always put myself in the place of others.
So, regardless of whether or not you abuse the goodness that the street gives you, one must be very fast and effective when shooting with the camera. You have to take advantage of each scene as much as possible, so the previous explanations and feedback between photographer and model are more fundamental than in other cases.
The model who accompanied me is called @Zanoa Villareal. It was the first time I worked with her and we achieved very good photos. They were 240 Edited) between her photos and that of another colleague of hers who also posed for my lens.
This was also the first time I worked with an external flash and overall it went pretty well, then I realized it was damaged that day. But I noticed it was damaged later, many guidelines later.
She has won 3 beauty pageants and already has a lot of experience in modeling and photo posing.

Bienvenidos a este blog en el cual te cuento mi travesía para tomar estas fotografías urbanas. Ese día me acompañaron dos modelos y otro fotógrafo y por poco no realizamos esta sesión.
BIENVENIDOS
Voy a mostrarte alguna foto que logré para mi cuenta de Instagram @fotosymedia y que no he subido todavía a esa red social por cuestiones de organización de cómo luce el feed y para no repetir a la protagonista de las fotos que he realizado.
¿Qué hace buena a una fotografía urbana? ¿Acaso es el enfoque, la iluminación, los colores, el encuadre? Esos factores son importantes, pero a mi criterio lo más importante es la oportunidad y las vivencias.
Este tipo de fotografía es muy conocida porque se realiza en la calle, con la presencia de transeúntes, carros en movimiento y que el clima varía tan rápidamente que una excelente foto puede quedar sobre expuesta o demasiado oscura.
A todo ello yo considero que la vivencia de la modelo es lo más importante, porque hay como una realidad alterna, por asi decirlo, mientras la modelo posa frente a los curiosos, tratando de lucir impecable pese al frio o el calor, y teniendo que retocarse tanto el cabello como el maquillaje, más frecuentemente que si estuviese en el estudio.
Esas interrupciones forma parte del desafío de la sesión fotográfica y junto a la iluminación natural hacen que se pierda un poco la conexión entre el fotógrafo y quien desfila de frente al lente.
Esta sesión la realicé en Caracas, Venezuela, en una zona del este de la capital llamada Las Mercedes. La locación principal fueron las cercanías del Centro Comercial Tolon.
Hacer estas fotos tuvo su parte complicada, porque hay lugares inseguros donde puedes ser víctima del hampa y porque hay sitios donde nos corrieron para impedirnos que tomáramos fotos a las afueras de algunas tiendas.
De hecho, un vigilante de una entidad bancaria nos dijo que no podíamos tomar fotos frente al banco, más allá que en los encuadres no pretendíamos que saliera el logo de esa institución.
Para mí las más vistosas escenas fueron las que hicimos en medio del tránsito, a un lado de la vía, sin impedir el libre tránsito y, sobre todo, sin exponer a la modelo o a mi persona a ser embestidos por algún vehículo.
He visto que otros fotógrafos y modelos detienen el tráfico y detienen el libre tránsito por lograr una buena foto, lo cual veo como un abuso en todos los sentidos. Supongo que esa gente a la que me refiero son más osada detrás y delante de las cámaras, o buscan la viralidad de las redes, pero yo siempre me pongo en el lugar de los demás.
Es así que, independientemente de que abuses o no de esas bondades que te otorga la calle, uno debe ser muy rápido y efectivo a la hora de disparar con la cámara. Hay que aprovechar cada escena lo máximo posible, por lo que las explicaciones previas y retroalimentación entre el fotógrafo y modelo son más fundamentales que en otros casos.
La modelo que me acompañó se llama @Zanoa Villareal. Era la primera vez que trabajaba con ella y logramos fotos muy buenas. Fueron 240 Editadas) entre sus fotos y la de otra colega de ella que también posó para mi lente.
Esta también fue la primera vez que trabajé con un flash externo y en general me fue bastante bien, luego me di cuenta que se me daño ese día. Pero me percaté que se dañó luego, muchas pautas después.
Ella ha ganado 3 certámenes de belleza y ya tiene mucha experiencia en modelaje y fotopose.

Me gustó mucho, muy buenas vibras urbanas, una duda haces postproducción con la piel de la modelo? Están excelente todas las fotos! La última es mi favorita.
en esta oportunidad no, hice una edición general que incluye un edición básica y alisamiento de piel leve, no invasiva, así como también la luminancia del color naranja que afecta también al rostro y extremidades. Las ediciones profundo suelo hacerlas en retratos de primeros planos.
Excelente resultado y la modelo excelente, espero ver retratos pronto, también.
Excelente cámara, la verdad que lo único que me gusta de las cámara es el poder del lente como son capaces de hacer un ángulo simple original.
hay que sacarle provecho e intentarlo cada vez que se pueda hasta dominar por completo la escena y todo lo que la envuelve.
