A Colorful Day in Krakow - Mobile Photowalk story

This is the post I wanted to share, but didn’t, so I’m doing it with a slight delay. Last Sunday, I went for a long walk, but it was also a workday since I had to seal some deals. And by 'deals,' I mean I wasn’t making deals with a cat.

The day was incredibly colorful from the start, filled with many random events. It's nice to have a 'normal day' that can still surprise you with your surroundings. Eventually, you start to feel a little like Mario—moving through the world while the background changes, meeting mysterious characters and unexpected situations along the way.

The black cat on the background of colourful door was just a start of the day.

First of all, there was a massive fundraiser that took place, which happens every year in Poland. It’s a nationwide event where almost all Polish people contribute money. The fundraiser usually supports people with various disabilities and conditions. This year, they raised a whopping 180 million PLN, which is around 45 million dollars—just in one day! A lot of money been collected into those little boxes on the picture below

Almost all major TV stations, as well as the biggest Polish brands, take part in this event, which has become a kind of national tradition. Sometimes, the charity fundraiser isn’t just about helping people—it can even have political undertones. While it’s generally seen positively by society, there are some who have a different opinion. But I don’t want to dwell on that too much—it’s simple: wherever there’s money, politics tend to follow.

While walking through the busy streets, one event obviously wasn’t enough, so I ended up at a protest. This was also, once again, something political—people were rallying to say 'No to the Israeli Prime Minister in Poland.

That is Krakow for you.

But saying that... 50 years ago was also colourful right?

It was good to see the rally, it's a different kind of war.
