3.666666666667 and a lunar eclipse

in Photography Lovers3 months ago

A certain amount of capital was increased by this percentage a few hours ago and I was happy. Then the smile faded when I realised that the rise could have been greater if I had been able to control my emotions a little more. Waiting, like an iceberg, the one I am not.

A slight jump in time

But... what the hell, life is a roller coaster

_1370422.JPG

And to make my point, the plan exists. The plan is fulfilled. But I am human and it hurts a little to see that my gains could have been greater. This should not hurt at all, I repeat, but it hurts. In short, the problem is this damn-blessed humanity.

Meanwhile, in a picturesque spot in Havana's geography, the herons are flying, bathing and splashing and there are other species swimming peacefully.

_1370431.JPG

(I would like to know what this is but my lens could not get any closer).

I already said that we were moving forward in time, because at this stage of writing I was still at home.

...

That's what I was thinking about (about what?... huh yeah, life, trading, emotions) when it occurred to me to go for a bike ride. It's true that the weather is not suitable for cycling, but so what. Between the lucubrations about falling interest rates, the shocks in the cryptocurrency market, the peas that have been in the pot for more than an hour without softening and this feeling that I'm not getting there... but what is clear is that sometimes I feel a certain fascination for numbers. They speak to me.

Here I should take a look at 366, 666, 667?

{searching}

OK, it all looks promising.

... now I'm going to take a shower so I can go out and cycle a bit. It's 17:03. And September 17.

After an hour of cold showering and grooming, I left the house, made sure everything was locked up, took my friend out and parked her while I closed the garden fence, opened the Strava App, put on some music and started pedalling.

I went to Vento Causeway and I was about to enter the coffee shop where I sometimes have chocolate ice cream when...

_1370414.JPG

I saw it coming in the distance and took out my camera. The car, yeah.

OMG, 😮 this I didn't see coming.

_1370418.JPG

The moment where he waves at me and gestures for me to take his picture, I missed that one. It all happened so fast... 🙄

_1370419.JPG

I thought that life is indeed a roller coaster. I smiled and stayed there for a few seconds, stuck there like chewing gum, no longer sure what I was thinking. But... what a fool you are, girl, you can catch up with him, I said to myself. You're on a bike that runs faster than his.

I sped up, hit about 10 or 15 potholes, and then saw this landscape and the herons and what I showed you at the beginning. I stayed there for a while.

His name is Felix Guirola, I think it's him. I decided to stop running after the celebrity and stay quietly with the birds and the colours of the sky.

_1370426.JPG

If you look at the first picture of the post (you can scroll up a bit) there is an iron bridge. I thought it would be a good place to go and take pictures early in the morning, considering that this place attracts a lot of birds. There are cows too. So I found out from people who live in the area how to get there. Sounds like an adventure.

_1370446.JPG

_1370448.JPG

I stopped at a few points along the Vento Causeway to photograph what I found interesting.

Along this road you can appreciate the records of the aqueduct system, a great engineering work of our country, designed by the Colonel of Engineers Francisco de Albear y Lara and executed under his command between 1861 and 1893.

_1370432.JPG

That deserves a post. Let's leave it pending.

_1370455.JPG

I decided to go back because it would soon get dark and I was really hungry.

_1370459.JPG

_1370478.JPG

While waiting at a traffic light, I took this photo and saw that I had some missed calls from my friend Li, as well as a message about the Lunar Eclipse. It said it could be seen from 20:39 hours.

_1370480.JPG

Another slight jump in time:
at 21:21 I did not see the moon in the sky.
It was cloudy.

_1370487.JPG

Luckily here I was already close to home. I don't like to be alone in the street at night, especially not on a bike.

_1370482.JPG

Now after posting these photos, which I hope you liked, I will look out to see if by any chance the sky has cleared so that Chanel and I can see the eclipse.

😉

Is that bike for cycling through floods! :OD

Maybe it's a coconut picking bike.

Becca 🌷

HAha, I wouldn't fancy getting on and off it whatever it is! :OD

I think he uses all kinds of bushes to get up and down from there 🥴😂.

😂

I heard in an interview that he is obsessed with heights. But yes, there will be many uses for that bike.

I would hate to see the height of his bed! 🤣🤣

They make bikes much differently there than they do here. 🤭

Becca 🌷

I think there's one like him in the US and they even met and got bikes tattooed on their legs.

I can draw the moon for you!!

I don’t get how they ride that huge bike! I’m even more curious about how they manage to get down when it stops. I love biking, but that looks way too risky!

I would have liked to see how he did at the traffic lights... but you know, I let him go. Yes, it's risky.

Now that's a thing. Didn't even think of that. How do they stop?

Maybe he doesn't stop. He just has the time for the traffic light. Or simply 😵‍💫 doesn't respect it. I have the same doubt as you.

Hehe it's like the photos are taken in the 80s

Because time does not pass here. 😂 I was born in the 80s, so I live in the past... I wonder when I will be able to see and experience the future 🧐 Hahaha

Interesting ride and even more so the pictures.... the herons I love, and the car is great.... in the end it turned out well to cycle out. This is my favourite postcard... hope you saw the eclipse!

All the bike rides are really interesting, you just have to pay attention to the details. Sometimes everything happens very fast, hahaha.
This place is very cool for photographing herons and other birds. In photography it is very important to take advantage of the quality of the light, very early in the morning it is good to go out to take pictures or in the afternoon close to sunset.
Las noches también son muy bonitas, pero eso solo le está permitido a las criaturas mágicas. 😉

No, el eclipse me lo perdí, pero créeme que sentí su influencia desde que desperté ayer.

Witches go on night walks.... fairies do too!

I hope the eclipse was a good influence!

After an hour of cold showering and grooming

MY GOD! if it takes you that long pre cycle ride, how long does it take you to get ready to go out to dinner? LOL.

But an epic ride we have been on, the skies are magnificent and me? I like the electricity transformers, and pylons, architecture of their own.

It will take me twice as long, I guess. Hahaha...

About the electricity pylons, etc... some of those photos I've saved for another occasion. 😉

LOL, oh my days, food will be too cold to eat by then

Look forward to the upload x

Quite a number of vintage cars here. Is that a thing over there?

Yes, this city has sometimes been called the rolling museum. 😅

That is quite interesting. Must be refreshing to see sights like this casually each day.

I'm curious how it goes down😂

Me too. But I think he has to be supported by something.... And he will have a lot of skill.

There are videos on YouTube, search by his name.

Drop down is easy! (tho maybe a pain... but everyday training may bring magic results!). I am more curious how does he climb there?!

Loved the shots. I could see the elements of photography. 🫶

Thank you very much my friend, I try to do the best I can. Sometimes it doesn't work out so well.

(I would like to know what this is but my lens could not get any closer).

It's a sentence inside a set of parenthesis. Let me know if you need anything else, I'll be around all week.

😂🤣 You are very funny 😆

I had no electricity from 10 am till now it came on and if you see.. when we are in blackout the 4g signal towers don't work. In other words, we don't have internet either. I was already going into a rage... Can I call you every time I have a tantrum?

Wow some great photography Amiga. Definitely can tell it's your profession. It's amazing how you bring the life through your shots. I got an amazing shot (my opinion)of the moon last night. I'm not all that savy of moon phases but believe it's a full one, haha.

What a great moon! I imagine you enjoyed that view very much. I always love to see the full moon. They say it was a super blood moon.

Thank you, Amigo.

I knew that yesterday's outing would bring you results. Nice photos there reflecting the daily life of Havana and its people. I really liked the photo of the man on the bicycle standing so high and pedaling is incredible.🥰❤️

It's amazing how the mood changes... I simply stopped thinking about the impossible (tienes razón) and did the possible. Thank you Mamani.

Wow! That is a huge bicycle 😀

It seems we need to meet him and interview him. I will try to make it possible.

Thank you!

That would be awesome! Get this guy a Hive account 😃

Could not even imagine I will see such a thing one day. Can you make your guess, how does one is supposed to jump into the seatpost? why, why such a bike was constructed, what was the goal?

He parks the bike somewhere where he can lean on it to climb up, then starts cycling and doesn't brake until he gets somewhere to lean on it to get off. 😐

Not a bad idea. Noted!

Some nice #streetphotos and great light. I liked very much the fence, so picturesque!
As for this fantastic bicycle... I am speechless. Could not even imagine I will see such a thing one day. Can you make your guess, how does one is supposed to jump into the seatpost? why, why such a bike was constructed, what was the goal?
!BEER

He says he has always been a fan of bikes and heights, so he combined the two. He wanted to go for the Guinness World Record but something happened and they wouldn't let him participate, I think. There are videos on Youtube about him that you can search typing his name, Félix Guirola.
I'm glad you liked my photos. 😇

I got it. Will check YT, maybe there he talks about the most curious part - why the Guinness did not count his efforts.

I was thinking of looking him up and interviewing him. Maybe I will succeed and bring him to Hive. He might even be interested in sharing his travels here.

He said in the video that they wouldn't let him try it in front of the Capitol, but he did it somewhere else and apparently faced technical issues. There is a record set by an American, the one in the video. From there a nice friendship grew up between the two of them and they got bikes tattooed on their legs.
