Asureti village is located in Kvemo Kartli (Tetritskaro Municipality). 750-800 m above sea level. Asureti was destroyed by invasions in the 18th century.
In the 20s of the XIX century, German colonists were settled here by Tsarist Russia in the village and created a German colony " Elizabettali"( They choose this name cause the foundation fell on the day of St. Elizabeth.)
In the begining of XX it got original name Asureti.
The German settlement was here until 1941(72 German immigrant families), and later Joseph Stalin ordered to deport Germans from our country, after this in this village came people from Ambrolauri and Oni (from Racha).
In Asuret you can see German architecture, beautiful Evangelichal Lutheran Church and houses.
The church is missing a bell tower(because of Soviet Union), but reconstruction works were done in January 2019.
Tbilisi-Asureti is only 45 km.
