The Winter Countdown: Gathering Hay and Firewood

in Photography Lovers2 days ago (edited)

Hello Hive Family. How are you all? I hope you all are healthy and happy.

Friends, due to being busy in my daily routine, I was not able to write a blog for the last few days.

I have one cow and one calf. Before the snow falls, we have to collect grass for our animals. We have to store grass for about five months for our animals. It took us a month to do this work. We cut grass for the animals from our apple orchards, then after collecting it at one place, it is put on a wooden pole in such a way that this grass does not rot due to snow and water. (This pile of grass is called TOLI in the local language.) We finished cutting grass in October last.

I had thought that after mowing the grass, I would rest for two-three days, but due to the increasing cold in the mountains these days, I will have to arrange for wood before the snow falls. Some old apple trees in my orchard had dried up. So I cut them and make my winter arrangements. Now I have no worries about winter. I have collected my quota of hay and wood for the winter.

There is a lot of work going on in the apple orchards these days. I will share it with all of you in my next blog.
