While searching in my photos archive I found some images of an interesting flower the “Narrowleaf evening primrose” or ”Oenothera fruticosa”. This is a simple beautiful yellow flower that for me is not very common. Today I publish a photo of it in the original color format, the black and white and the sepia tone versions, in order to show how an image can change dramatically by converting it in a monochromatic tone.
Mientras estaba revisando mi archivo fotográfico me topé con esta foto de flores un tanto inusuales para mí. Se trata de la flor de Onagra o ”Oenothera fruticosa”. La cual es muy sencilla pero al mismo tiempo bastante bonita. Hoy comparto la fotografía en su color natural, tanto en formato blanco y negro como sepia; con la intensión de mostrar como una misma imagen puede cambiar, al transformarla a un formato monocromático.
According to wikipedia this flower is originally from North America. This photo was taken in Seattle (WA-USA), many years ago in the month of June, just when the summer was about to start.
De acuerdo con wikipedia esta flor es originaria de Norteamérica. Tomé esta foto en Seattle (estado de Washington, en Estados Unidos) hace ya varios anos atrás en el mes de junio, ya cuando el verano estaba por comenzar.
You can see that the differences between the black and white version with the sepia tone are very sutiles. I like the shallow depth of field used in the photo, so that the attention is concentrated in the flowers in the foreground. All the edition of the images were done using Gimp.
Pueden observar que las diferencias entre la version en blanco y negro con la de tono sepia son bastante sutiles. Me gusta el efecto logrado por la poca profundidad de campo, ya que así la atención se concentra en el primer plano de la imagen. Toda la edición la hice en Gimp.
